Lusus Theatre arises from collaborative artistic processes, with cultural diversity as its core. Our group is made up of international and Danish artists with the desire to establish and cultivate a space where performing art serves as a creative force, fostering connections and enriching communication to instill a sense of belonging among our members and audiences.
We identified in Aarhus, where we are based, a need for a theatre that could also reach out to the vast international community in town. As artists, we decided to start our own theatre group that would perform in English, Gibberish (invented words), and other forms of expression. This is how Lusus appears.
Highlights among our pieces are the mask-based street performance "The Three Traveling Sisters", the collectively created "Cabaret Baubo" and a solo performance entitled "MOM".
We also like to share our knowledge through courses, workshops and events, such as Acting for Fun, Clown, Improv and other creative activities. Here we gather people from diverse backgrounds, creating a community connected by the wish to develop themselves artistically.
We firmly believe that our artistic endeavors contribute significantly to the cultural vibrancy of Aarhus. Our reach extends to an audience limited by language barriers, offering them a unique space for artistic self-development. Our goal is to provide an inclusive platform for individuals to explore and enhance their artistic capabilities.
