At Puro.earth we are at the center of the carbon dioxide removal ecosystem and provide events and content where ecosystem players meet to grow this key solution to the climate crisis.

 

We are looking for a motivated flexible part-time hourly-paid (20 to 37.5 hours) Marketing Specialist with the potential opportunity to work full-time. The main responsibilities will be Event Coordination and Producing Engaging Podcasts/Video Content, as well as Digital Marketing responsibilities.

The role is part of the Marketing and Communications team and responds to the Head of Communications. The work can be performed partly remotely and partly at our office in The Maria01 Startup Hub in Helsinki. Experience in event coordination, engaging non-written content production, and digital marketing with HubSpot is preferred.  

 

 Role Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1) Event coordination (priority)  

Tasks for sponsored events: 

  • Be the point of contact to event/conference vendors  

  • Provide conference vendor with our sponsor profile details such as company description, logo files, invoicing information, etc. 

  • Coordinate with Account Managers on who will staff the company booth 

  • Liaise with printers and arrange for marketing materials to be delivered to the conferences 

  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate people such as Puro speakers, as needed  

  • Organize scheduling, as needed 

  • In the case of virtual conferences with a virtual booth, upload company profile and marketing materials for downloading, arrange demo times with Puro staff such as Account Managers 

  • Coordinate with Head of Communications in case a press release will be issued at the conference 

  • Coordinate with vendor to get social media assets to amplify our presence and promote speakers in our channels 

  • Liaise with vendors and Puro internal stakeholders before and during the event to ensure that events are successful  

  • Schedule debriefing calls with Puro staff who attended the events to understand the impact of the conference 

  • Assist in the development of Return on Investment (ROI) measurement practices so we can better understand how much customer acquisition and revenue resulted from events.

  • Event-post marketing activities - these can include follow up marketing or sales emails to new leads, digital marketing campaigns to increase the numbers of touchpoints with relevant audience.

Tasks for our own events

  • Create sponsorship packages. 

  • Organize location venue, catering, physical space for sponsors 

  • Coordinate event registration 

  • Liaise with event sponsors about the deliverables of their sponsorship  

  • Liaise with vendors and Puro internal stakeholders before and during the event to ensure that events are successful  

  • Schedule debriefing calls with Puro staff to understand the impact of the conference 

  • Assist in the development of Return on Investment (ROI) measurement practices so we can better understand how much customer acquisition and revenue resulted from events 

  • Research on new tools that can help to grow the CDR ecosystem (eg. Networking tool for event, business card reader app for lead capture) 

  • Community Events: Host webinars, workshops, or virtual events to connect with the ecosystem


2) Ecosystem engagement and growth (Priority) 

 Content Creation (Podcast): 

Puro.earth started a Podcast Series where the Host, Elba Horta, our Head of Communications, interviews carbon removal doers: founders, innovators, and advocates who are driving change to grow the much needed carbon removal industry. We are truly excited about this project because it will serve the ecosystem with education about durable carbon removal, the Puro Standard’s CO2 Removal Certification journey, the challenges that suppliers face, industry trends, offtakes agreements, project finance and more.  

  • Consistent Podcast Episodes: Regularly produce and release high-quality podcast episodes. This includes scheduling prep-calls with guests, writing scripts, scheduling recordings, editing audio files, and publishing.

  • Diverse Content Formats: Experiment with different types of content, such as interviews, solo episodes, and panel discussions with Puro spokespeople, customers, suppliers and partners.

  • Transcriptions and Show Notes: Provide written transcriptions and detailed show notes for each episode. Write Compelling Podcast Descriptions.

  • Reach out to guests and support them in forming the scripts and during the recording process.  

  • Implementing Feedback: Ask and act on constructive feedback to improve the quality of the podcast. 

 Promotional Strategies: 

  • Podcast Promotion: Use platforms like Apple podcast/ Spotify to increase visibility. Share podcasts on different social media channels/ newsletter.  Create different social media posts with the content.

  • Paid Advertising: Explore paid advertising on social media or podcast networks. 

  • SEO Optimization: Optimize podcast titles and descriptions for search engines. 

  • Sponsorship Outreach: Reach out to potential sponsors or partners for monetization opportunities. 

  • Patreon or Membership Programs: Create a Patreon or membership program for exclusive content and perks. 

 Analytics and Performance Tracking: 

  • Analytics Review: Regularly review podcast analytics to understand audience behavior. 

  • Performance Metrics: Track metrics like downloads, listener demographics, and engagement rates. 


3) Digital Marketing - paid LinkedIn campaigns, Google Ads 

 Digital Marketing Strategy: 

  • Campaign Planning: Developing comprehensive digital marketing strategies for post-event marketing campaigns. 

  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for each campaign. 

  • A/B Testing: Conducting experiments to optimize ad and website performance. 

  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Improving the efficiency of landing pages to increase conversions-

  • Channels include paid LinkedIn, Google Ads and email marketing.

Analytics and Reporting: 

  • Data Analysis: Interpreting data from various digital marketing channels. 

  • Reporting: Creating regular reports on campaign performance. 

  • ROI Analysis: Evaluating the return on investment for different marketing efforts. 

  • Recommendations: Providing insights and recommendations based on performance data. 

 

4) Marketing operations (HubSpot) 

 Data Management: 

  • Database Maintenance: Regularly update and clean the contact database within HubSpot. 

  • Data Segmentation: Use HubSpot's segmentation features to categorize contacts based on various criteria, such as events. Work with Account Managers to implement  a process to upload contacts lists after every event.   

 Campaign Management: 

  • Email Campaigns: Design and execute email campaigns through HubSpot's email marketing tools. 

  • Landing Page Creation: Develop landing pages for campaigns using HubSpot's landing page builder. 

  • Work on workflow automation to build the new flow for new campaigns (when needed) 

  • Implement tracking for events lead generation and analysis.

 Analytics and Reporting: 

  • Performance Analytics: Utilize HubSpot's analytics tools to monitor marketing activities  

  • Report: Customize dashboard according to our needs.  

 

5) Ad hoc tasks: 

  • Supporting in writing blog and social media content when needed. 

  • Supporting in our new website migration, migrating page content and styling  

  • Reviewing and updating PowerPoint slide decks with current content/statistics  

  • Doing social media and competitor analysis 

 

 

Preferred knowledge and experience:

  • Event coordination

  • Audio/video editing

  • HubSpot CRM

  • A real desire to work on climate crisis solutionns
