Company

Doublepoint creates cutting-edge interaction technology for next-generation UI’s in Augmented Reality. Our smartwatch algorithms detect subtle hand gestures with unprecedented sensitivity and accuracy. Currently, we are looking to grow our team to broaden the range of supported embedded targets and continue to improve the reliability of our devices & prototypes.

Role and Motivation

Doublepoint is looking for people to join our Hardware Team. The team’s goal is to create research hardware prototypes, commercial development kits, and embed & deploy our algorithms onto a wide range of architectures used in wearable devices.

As a team member, your responsibilities will include for example:

  • Deploying gesture recognition models and signal processing algorithms onto various embedded targets (ARM Cortex-M, Xtensa, RISC-V and other resource constrained systems)

  • Develop firmware and collaborate on PCB designs for wrist-worn wearables, both for commercial products as well as exploratory internal research prototypes.

  • Fine-tuning the firmware to optimize for various performance metrics such as speed, memory usage, power consumption, and overall system efficiency.

  • Designing and implementing features to protect against potential security vulnerabilities, enabling secure boot processes, encryption, and secure communication protocols.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate would possess:

  • A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field

  • An exceptional ability at communicating complex technical concepts

  • An entrepreneurial spirit & aptitude for fast-paced development

  • A proven track record with at least 5 years experience in developing and maintaining production-grade firmware

  • Experience with machine learning tools such as Pytorch, Tensorflow Lite (tflite-micro in particular) and ONNX

  • Experience with Platformio and other embedded system deployment schemes

  • Familiarity with VHDL and FPGA workflows

  • Fluency in C++ and Python

Join us in shaping the future of AR interaction.

Working at
Doublepoint

Doublepoint create cutting edge gesture detection algorithms for smartwatches. Doublepoint was founded to solve the AR interaction problem. Our first product is an algorithm designed for smartwatch sensors which can detect subtle microgestures of a user's fingertip at an extremely high accuracy and robustness. This algorithm is so efficient that it removes a AR headset's reliance on camera based hand tracking, making all day lightweight headsets of science fiction finally a reality.
