Walking for Water is seeking a motivated Human Resources Associate to join our HR Group. As a nonprofit organization that provides clean water solutions in developing countries, we rely on volunteers to help fulfill our mission.

About Human Resources Associate Role

The selected person will take ownership of vital recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to increase involvement in Walking for Water's mission. 

With exposure to leadership decisions and strategy testing, you will enhance practical HR skills while making a difference for thousands lacking safe water.

We seek an independent yet collaborative self-starter with relevant experience and/or a related degree with excellent communication abilities and creative problem-solving chops. 

Passion for nonprofit volunteering is essential; experience is desired but not required if you demonstrate strategic thinking to reach engagement goals. Fluent English is mandatory, while Danish proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR, volunteer coordination, or social studies.

• Passion for volunteer engagement and grassroots mobilizing.

• Self-motivated with ability to take ownership of projects.

• Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

• Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate on a small, agile team.

• Fluent in English.  Fluency in Danish is a plus.

• A degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing or a related field is a plus

• Third-sector experience is a plus.

• Proficiency with HR databases/software is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing an outreach strategy to recruit more volunteers and passive members.

• Designing an onboarding process for smoothly integrating newcomers.

• Creating materials and messaging to compel engagement.

• Implementing retention initiatives to keep amazing team members involved.

• Managing the full recruitment process from applications to onboarding.

• Cooperate with other working groups, such as marketing and web development, as needed.

Please note, that no monetary compensation is provided with this position. Walking for Water is a 100 % volunteer-run NGO. 

However, you will gain valuable experience in HR and NGO Management. More importantly, you can make a big difference in communities lacking safe drinking water.
