Hardware and electronics developer - Internship/project

AirPlate is a startup specializing in digital license plates for drones. Despite our small size, we develop comprehensive electronics, hardware, and software, ensuring compliance with legislation. Our target market includes drone manufacturers seeking legal adherence. We provide tailored technological components for manufacturing and integration. AirPlate supports compliance in the dynamic field of unmanned aerial vehicles.

About the position 

We are looking for a talented hardware and electronics design intern to help us improve the AirPlate device. Furthermore, you will translate your research in design decisions that will improve our product. As an hardware and electronics design intern, you will be part of the product team.

About you: 

• Bachelor/master student in Electronics Engineering, or similar 

• Experience with PCB modeling and soldering

• You are eager to learn new things

• You want to create electronics based on user needs  

• Theoretical electronics knowledge 

• Experience using either Altium or KiCad

• Can work independently on your tasks, but also contribute to the team work

• Problem solver and have a user-centered mindset

• You are highly structured and proactive, and you have interpersonal skills

It is a plus if you can:  

• Altium 

• You have experience with CAD modeling and 3D printing 

• Experience in serial production

• Experience with PCB assembly 

• Experience with PCB factories 

Your tasks will include:   

• Prototyping design

• Hardware/electronics testing (flying drones) 

• PCB designing and manufacturing 

• Waterproofing the device 

  • Connectors 

  • Silicon coating 

  • Replace switch with button

This is an in-office internship 

This is an in-office position. While the working hours are somewhat flexible, ideally the candidate will have some availability during normal working hours based on GMT+2. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience. 

This is an unpaid internship 

We are a thriving startup, but we do not have spare funds to pay salaries for internships, which we don’t know the outcome of.
