Client Executive for fast-growing solar energy platform

Salary Competitive

Society is facing the biggest challenge in the history of mankind. The climate crisis calls for fast replacement of fossil fuels, and our ability to deploy more renewable energy is essential to meet the 1.5 degree target.

Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition with cost effective renewable energy. Our ambition is to be one of the world’s most efficient companies in originating, deploying and operating large Commercial and Industrial solar PV installations on roofs and other sustainable energy solutions including batteries.

We have proven our model with a number of leading Norwegian/Nordic real estate companies and deployed multiple solar plants across Norway, as well as developed a technology that improves operational efficiency and provides customers a data platform that lets them leverage their sustainability impact. In the future, we will enhance our software with smart operational and innovative storage and load controlling features that will enable us to become a major distributed power producer and technology provider across Europe.

We are a small but dedicated team (currently 14 people) working out of our brand new offices in central Oslo. Our working culture is Nordic - we have a flat hierarchy where everyone's expected to participate in discussion about the direction and strategy of the company.

To help us realise these objectives, we are now looking for an additional Client Executive at various level of seniority to help us drive growth with the principal objective of securing new clients in Norway and the Nordic region.

About the role

As our new Client Executive you will be joining our Business Development team, working with 3 other colleagues, 1 new person joining as Senior Client Executive in August, Mikkel our Sales rep and Rikard, our CCO, who you will report to.

We have an office first culture - because we are a small team and depend on each other. Of course if you have a dentist appointment or other urgent things, we can be flexible.

Customers are typically commercial and industrial real estate owners in Norway. We serve mainly private customers, and within this segment there are more financial owners. Our sales cycle is a fairly traditional B2B process for green energy solutions and runs medium to long term. The entry point at the client's end is typically Head of Real Estate, Head of Portfolio, CEO, CFOs, and Owners, but we also interact with stakeholders like people responsible for Sustainability, ESGs, Green energy, energy etc.

This makes the sales cycle more complex, as quite often we interact with multiple stakeholders during the sales process. It contains a semi consultative aspect, where we advice and guide our customers to find the best solution for them, and sell the solution to all the different parties. Our sales materials are fully developed and include a presentation of our company and services, a proposal document, and finally contractual documents for installation and for electricity.

A short overview of our sales process:

  1. We begin with a meeting informing the client about the services we provide

  2. Then we go into detailing the solution for that specific customer - here there is a customisation aspect influencing the size of the installation, as well as the choice of commercial model (should they own the installation themselves or invest themselves - mixture of models for larger property owners)

  3. Once a solution is decided upon, the contracting phase begins - this can take some time

  4. Finally there is handover to our Implementation Team who will build the installation

  5. You will also be responsible for building relationships and engaging with some of the largest real estate owners in Norway - where we might decide to do one or more pilot installations

We track our leads movement through the funnel using Monday.com, and we expect you to own the end-to-end sales process from initial talks to contract and handover to the installation team.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Supporting our Business Development team with analysis, presentations, proposals and join in on meetings

  • Securing new clients and build up your own portfolio - through both inbound and outbound (cold calling)

  • Own the end-to-end sales process and track progress in our CRM

  • Stakeholder management

  • Growing Sunday Power in Norway / the Nordic region

  • Promoting Sunday Powers Solar and Battery solutions

In addition, you will be involved in working across our organisation to help all our corporate functions to succeed to make a more sustainable world.

The salary is composed by a base + commission, and when you join you will also be scoped to invest in our options programme if you are interested. The commission is partly individual and partly team-based, when sales are done together.

Working at
Sunday Power

Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate solar power growth, put more renewable energy into the mix, and help the world decarbonize. The real estate industry stands for 40% of global CO2 emissions, and pressure is increasing on the industry to become greener and more sustainable. Our strategy is to offer property owners the easiest and most profitable way to greener buildings, and our business model enables us to give our customers all benefits of solar power – for free. We are developing technology for the future to make solar power on commercial buildings easier, smarter, and more profitable. Luckily, the resource we are harvesting shines everywhere. Therefore, we are aiming for international growth as part of our goal to make a difference in the world. We are constantly looking for new team members that can help us reach our ambition to help the world towards net zero. We have brand new offices in central downtown Oslo. We have a coffee machine where we brew great coffee, and eat typical Norwegian lunch together in our kitchen. We also have a rooftop terrace on the 9th floor where we like to take our Friday beers to celebrate the end of the week. Our working culture is Nordic - we have a flat hierarchy where everyone's expected to participate in discussion about the direction and strategy of the company. We believe we can build the best culture if everyone works primarily from the office, but we all work from other locations for a day or a week every now and then.
