Society is facing the biggest challenge in the history of mankind. The climate crisis calls for fast replacement of fossil fuels, and our ability to deploy more renewable energy is fundamental to meeting the 1.5-degree target.
Sunday Power’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition with smart renewable energy. Our ambition is to be one of the world’s most efficient companies in originating, deploying, and operating solar PV assets.
We are a small but dedicated team (currently 14 people) working out of our brand new offices in central downtown Oslo. Our working culture is Nordic - we have a flat hierarchy where everyone's expected to participate in discussion about the direction and strategy of the company.
During the past two years, we have signed and deployed multiple solar plants across Norway, as well as developed technology that improves operational efficiency and provides customers with a data platform that lets them report on their sustainability impact. Our tech team is hard at work on improving it, and we’re now looking for an additional full-stack developer to round out the team.
As our new Fullstack Developer, you will become an important part of our tech team (currently 5 people, 3 nationalities), reporting to our CTO Håkon. We both have senior (Cognite, Schibsted, Spacemaker) and junior profiles (fresh out of university), all highly passionate about and driven by our mission and the impact we have create.
You will be working especially close with our Senior Fullstack Developer David and our Product Owner Alex, but everyone in the team is happy to help and share their experience and expertise when needed. Your main responsibility will be developing our SaaS platform, but in addition you will also be involved in planning our product strategy and finding new ways to make solar and other green energy solutions smarter and more profitable. Our very best ideas are yet to be had!
We're still a small team working closely together, and believe that we'll find the best solution if everyone participates in researching the problem and designing the solution. We therefore work with more high level long term goals, and define and prioritise our tasks accordingly to continuously focus on the most important tasks at hand. For the future (as we grow bigger) we will adapt our process as needed, leaning towards agile ways of working.
All our work is in English with no Norwegian needed, and we are very open to internationals. That being said, we believe we can build the best culture if everyone works primarily from the office, so this is not a fully remote position - but we all work from other locations for a day or a week every now and then.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Building our SaaS platform
Tasks related to design, data science, or infrastructure as well
Figuring out what our users want, need, and should want
Help prepare our services for rolling out to new markets in Europe
Build our company and engineering culture
Our current tech stack: Typescript, React, GraphQL, RedwoodJS, Google Cloud
We imagine that you have a couple of years of experience as a full-stack developer, or potentially you recently graduated and are very excited to apply the skills you learned at uni in a real and impactful project. As a person you are a team player with a passion for building great products, and not afraid to take ownership and drive some of our work.
We believe you’ll succeed if you:
Have 2+ years of experience with developing full-stack applications
Like to work on tasks related to design, data science, and infrastructure as well
You are based in Oslo, or willing to move here and have experience working in the EU/US
Bonus points for:
Industry experience in solar, power, renewables, prop-tech, or the real estate business
Experience with the rest of our tech stack
