Hey there đź‘‹ !
We’re Tjekvik — a digital colleague in the Automotive Industry. We bring self-service experience to Car Dealerships. Our customers include brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Audi.
Tjekvik is a remote-first company, with people all around Europe.
We’re looking for our first full-time DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering Department from anywhere in Europe.
Your role would be to help all our engineering teams have stable and scalable environments with maximum automation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Putting in place the monitoring for our applications & APIs (for performance, for detection, for prevention of problems).
Keeping an eye on a fleet of 700+ Linux-based kiosks
Coding and automating the infrastructure (multiple environments) deployment (software and Kiosks)
Putting in place Tjekvik's infrastructure & DevOps strategy with an incremental phasing approach
What do we expect?
3+ years of experience in DevOps (or similar) role
Experience with Infrastructure as a code, with Terraform experience.
Experience managing Linux-based servers.
Experience with Heroku and other cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, ...).
Experience with Database management, optimisation and monitoring
Great knowledge of Ansible.
Experience working in a remote team is mandatory.
We communicate exclusively in English, so you need to be good at it.
Who you are?
You're a 'yes' person
You have the willingness to learn & work with tech you’re not yet 100% comfortable with
You are ready to share your knowledge
You have the courage & autonomy to take decisions and responsibility for big projects
You are not afraid to experiment with new tech
You are a team player
“Better done than perfect” and "Good to Great" approaches.
What do we offer?
Learning. Lots of learning while delivering stuff to production. We do pair programming, have bi-weekly internal tech presentations, we’re serious about code review and have mentorship opportunities.
Time and space to deliver quality work. Without unrealistic deadlines and unnecessary stress. And yes, it’s fine to turn off Slack notifications when you need no distractions.
Work with clear vision thanks to our OKRs system.
Flexible working hours.
Mature remote company experience. We’ve been remote ever since Tjekvik started. Not because we had to but because we wanted to.
We have a bonus structure in place.
We get together twice a year in company retreats.
What does the recruitment process look like?
A half an hour introduction call — you’ll learn about Tjekvik as a company and employer, discuss expectations from your position and have a chance to ask any questions. This isn’t a technical conversation just yet.
Technical DevOps task — after the introduction call we’ll send you a technical task to solve.
Technical DevOps interview — we’ll discuss your task solution and have some technical questions.
Discussion with our CTO where you'll also have time to ask any questions you may have just about everything at Tjekvik.
After this, we will take some time to evaluate your profile and will come back with an answer.
We may do one more short call if it turns out to be necessary.
If you feel like you don’t meet the above criteria, we still encourage you to apply! We’re looking for people to join us remotely from anywhere in Europe.
