ROEST is a Norwegian company established in 2014. Our team is dedicated to develop and manufacture innovative products for the coffee industry, increasing quality in the coffee cup and efficiency in the workflow.

ROEST’s current portfolio includes two models of an AI-powered coffee roaster designed for quality control. ROEST Sample Roaster has received several industry awards and even helped coffee enthusiasts to succeed in the World Coffee Championships. This year we will launch a new production roaster for coffee roasteries and coffee shops. 

In 2022 ROEST became the national “gasellebedrift”, a prestigious award for the fastest growing -profitable - companies in Norway.

Responsibilities

We will shape the job around the candidate and not all elements will be relevant for the individual candidate

We are developing a technology driven coffee roaster with high precision and full automation. Using sensors such as microphones, cameras, temperature sensors and more, we are monitoring the roasting process for optimal performance. ROEST is leading coffee technology development, with ML models, intelligent UX, and state-of-the-art hot air roasting giving roasters the information and control they need.

The candidate will contribute in this development as well as working on our web application for roasting control. Areas of development includes, but are not limited to: 

• Further develop and improve the user experience (UX) of our web application for roasting control.

• Create an application that is integrated into our new product  Together with our customers, we thrive to make an unique and extraordinary solution for coffee roasting. 

• Work on our firmware for roasting, including enabling new functionality from sensors we are developing to monitor the roasting process. 

• Work closely with our engineers on product development.

We are looking for

We are looking for a full stack developer with proven experience. If you have an interest in either UX, UI design, embedded systems or IoT, that is a bonus.  You are someone who will thrive in an agile environment where everyone is passionate about what they do and have these qualities:

• A demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to change, while delivering exceptional work.

• Motivated to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment that constantly evolves to incorporate new technology and methods.

• Experience in electronics is beneficial, but not mandatory.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
