About Slush Program Team:

The speaker operations is part of Slush’s Program team, which takes care of all the 170 main stage speakers at Slush. Program team’s mission is to bring the successful venturers of the startup ecosystem to Slush to share their knowledge, learnings, and stories from the years of building their startups or VCs on stage. Our stages are one of the most visible parts of Slush and have a tremendous impact on the event and industry even years after.

Join the program team that works rigorously in creating unique talks for Slush stages, and connecting the speakers with promising startup builders. The speakers we have worked with range from Twitter, Paypal, and Twitch co-founders to leaders from Tinder, Revolut, and OnlyFans to Managing Partners of Sequoia, Accel, and Lightspeed Ventures to the Finnish Prime Minister and former Vice President of the United States.

What you can expect from your role as a Speaker Operations:

In this role, you will be responsible for the speaker experience at Slush 2023. In doing your work, you should be guided by an ambition to create the best speaker experience of any startup or technology conference in Europe. After all, we want to be the one event that the brightest minds of the global startup ecosystem choose to speak at. What’s more, what we lack in attractiveness by virtue of not paying any of our speakers, we should make up for in experience. Your responsibilities include:

• Ownership of exclusive events organized for speakers (Speaker off-site and Speaker dinner)

• Managing speakers’ logistics (arrival, accommodation, flow at the event, speaker gifts)

• Establishing and maintaining speaker relations: Responsibility for wider communication with all speakers

• Leading one of the largest volunteer groups with 100 volunteers at Slush, and two other smaller volunteer teams

• Recruiting and training stage hosts

• Handling and arranging multiple documentation related to the stage program

What we expect from you:

• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to comprehend and lead multiple projects at once

• Succinct communicator, both written and verbal (English)

• Self-starter with great execution skills: capable of advancing own projects independently

• Excitement to create the best speaker experience and do excellent customer service

• Empathy and humility. In addition to establishing meaningful relationships with our speakers, you’ll be working in the intersection of internal teams to support their work

• Interest in entrepreneurship, startups, and technology

Commitment: The role is based in Helsinki and we are looking for one candidate to start in June 2023. The role is a fixed-term position until the end of 2023.
