In a world where more and more goods and services can be purchased as a subscription and the average person has more subscriptions than can be counted on one (or two) hands, consumers crave actionable insights into their recurring expenses. Subaio gives consumers this control by delivering a white-label SaaS solution directly in a bank’s online or mobile ecosystem that provides personalized and detailed information aimed at the consumer. 

At our core, we are a data company seeking to improve the financial health of consumers and we strive to provide simple solutions to complex financial questions. We’re a well-funded fintech with about 40 employees in Aalborg and Copenhagen, with high growth aspirations. Our customer list includes some of the most innovative banks in the Nordics and the rest of Europe! 

As we prepare for an accelerated growth period in 2023 and beyond, we are seeking a Legal & Business Analyst to manage everything related to the legal environment of Subaio on a global basis to help us scale quickly and efficiently.


What you will do

You will become a member of the Subaio Staff Team, which is broadly tasked to support the Management Team specifically and the whole company more broadly in any necessary way. We handle all processes and tasks in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and anything else that is needed to drive the success of Subaio!

Reporting to the Financial Controller & Head of Staff, you will have full ownership of anything and everything concerning the legal environment of Subaio. More specifically, this means you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing watertight and repeatable processes for customer, supplier and employee (Subaio colleagues) contracts….and any other ad hoc documents that are needed in our extremely varied commercial interactions all over the world;

  • Contract preparation, review, negotiation and approval with customers and suppliers as well as contract management and archive;

  • Creation of written documents, policies, procedures and handbooks relating to all aspects of Subaio;

  • Conducting legal reviews of new markets and our innovative products to ensure full compliance, while liaising with external counsel as needed;

  • Keeping constant contact with Commercial colleagues as prospective customers move through our sales cycle;

  • Day-to-day management of an anticipated funding round in 2023;

  • Assessment and management of business insurance policies;

  • Other business matters as required in all areas supported by the Staff Team. As a small company operating on a global scale, there is always something to do. You need to be able and willing to step outside of your comfort zone and contribute in any way to the success of Subaio!


We’d love to hear from you if

  • You have a university degree in law, business, economics, finance, and/or other comparable field(s);

  • You have at least a few years of experience in business and contract law, in the private sector or even as part of a law firm, preferably in the technology space;

  • You have a genuine interest in process set-up and improvement;

  • You can operate in a fast moving and demanding environment where no two days are the same;

  • You are the type of person to always raise your hand to help, even if a task at its face value doesn’t seem to be in your area of responsibility;

  • You have the ability to take full ownership of abstract tasks and see them to the finish line;

  • You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing;

  • You can physically be at our office in Aalborg at least 2-3 days per week;


Your education is not as important as your mindset and experience! The most important thing is a willingness to learn and do anything and everything needed to make Subaio a continued success.

Subaio was founded at a hackathon in 2016. Prior to the event one of the founders had found an odd payment on his family’s monthly bank statement. What was this? After some research he found that it was a payment for a US online newspaper he had only used once and then forgot all about. This was the beginning of Subaio – the service that gives you control of your subscriptions. The last five years the subscription economy has grown more than 100% a year according to McKinsey. At the same time more people have a hard time cancelling their subscriptions. 42% to be exact according to creditcards.com. And there’s no indication that this development is going to stop. 35% thus want their bank to deliver a subscription management system in their online bank according to Cicero Consulting.
