Why: We have three General Partners on the investment side and we’re getting very busy so need support on the investment side. The analyst will become an important guide to help GPs in investment decision making.
What: We are looking for someone who is a problem solver and can help us get comfortable with our decisions including help building our market thesis, supporting on gathering material, reference checks etc.
Who: A person with a few years of work experience doing similar tasks. Someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, works well to tight deadlines, loves doing research, and building business cases.
Support on the fund's active investment opportunities all the way from the beginning until the end. From deal flow, to due diligence, and onboarding.
Prepare analysis on markets, sectors, competitors, business models, etc as needed to support the General Partners.
Read/review pitch decks and investment opportunities that reach the fund.
Help build expertise and theses around specific sectors.
Conduct reference checks and interviews as needed to support on active deals.

Your background
You have at least a few years work experience where you have done similar work tasks.
You have great organisational skills and can work to tight deadlines.
You are comfortable to work remotely and can work independently.
Some prior experience or knowledge about the startup ecosystem is preferred but not essential.
Well versed in English, both written and spoken.

Having founded or worked at an early stage startup is useful to understand the community we work within and the portfolio companies we serve.
You have an entrepreneurial mindset. You are ok working with some uncertainty and are happy to think outside of the box and adapt in new situations.
You work well by yourself but are also a team player.
You have basic understanding about business models and can do some basic financial modelling and forecasting as well as calculation of market size.
You have used a range of modern document tools (Google Drive, Notion, etc) and happy to collaborate in Slack, Zoom/Hangouts, and other digital bonanza.

Problem solver: You are a problem solver at heart and love the opportunity to find new solutions if things don’t go to plan. You can live with some last minute changes and uncertainty.
Organisational skills: You can manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines and can set up and organise both online and offline events.
Time management: You set your own deadlines for multiple tasks but prefer to deliver early to ensure that you are always one step ahead of the others and arrange tasks ahead of time.
Self-managed: You can manage yourself, take own initiatives, and see what the next step is.

We are a small fund and while this is our first role on the investment side we are not planning for this role to become an investment role. The role is ideal for a person who wants to spend a few years at a VC firm to build up their skills and expertise.
