Cruncho is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with a backend orientation and some team leading experience, confident with the full cycle of front- and backend development. You’ll be joining a tight-knit, distributed tech team of a CTO/Backend Developer, 3 Full Stack Developers and a UI/UX Designer, working closely with the CEO and the Business Development team in shaping the development of our in-house products. In such an environment, your direct impact on Cruncho’s success and your own career is apparent.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Development planning in collaboration with the tech team

• Building new features from static designs (or, sometimes, just simple requirements)

• Working with databases and real production data (querying, extracting reports, bulk updates, Postgres, MongoDB, Elastic Search, etc…)

• Continuous development and maintenance of Cruncho’s frontend and backend apps - including a city guide, an event calendar, a quiz and a CMS.

• Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivery of projects to market

• Acting as a mentor to team members

• Staying on top of technology trends and developments

• Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards

• Shared responsibility of the product as a whole

Basic Qualifications

• Masters degree in computer science or related field

• A minimum of 3 years working in a technological role

• A minimum of 6 month managerial experience

• Advanced technological skillset and a demonstrated history with technology

• Experience with responsive web UI

• Experience with React, React Native, HTML & CSS (SASS)

• Experience with relational and document databases

• Experience with ExpressJS and TypeScript

• Familiarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies

• Exceptional team management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future

As a person, you are a proactive self-starter, able to work with a high level of independence while being a part of and mentoring a team. You are organised, well-structured and have an eye for details. You thrive in challenging environments, enjoy learning by doing and exhibit a drive for continuous improvement. 

Additionally, you are enthusiastic about traveling and learning about new cultures. You’re optimistic, have a healthy sense of humour, and you know how to genuinely build trust and long-term relationships.

Finally, you are highly proficient in both spoken and written English.

Optional/Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the start-up environment

• Experience with web scraping

• Google Analytics, Matomo (or other analytics platforms)

• HTML emails

• Redux

• Basic UI/UX design

• Image editing software (e.g. Photoshop, Figma, Sketch, etc)

• Some knowledge and/or experience of AI / Machine Learning.

  
  

Additionally, proficiency in additional language(s) is appreciated.
