Cetopo is a growing GIS startup that currently focuses on architects and the construction industry. We are on the cutting edge of technology, with tech achievements like Finland' & Sweden's s first nationwide 3D-forest model and LOD2 buildings. If you want to work on the frontier of creating real value out of massive open datasets, using complex spatial algorithms, then this job is for you. It is also for you if you prefer to design scalable, performant infrastructures for said massive datasets.

We are looking for one or two software developers to join Cetopo as the second and third member of our dev-team. Team culture, tools & tech used, and even development direction will be significantly affected by you. That's why we are looking for team players, who are also not afraid to voice their opinion. We have no plan to stop at a three person dev team, so if you see yourself as something of a lead developer, then here is a golden opportunity for that as well.

The challenges you will be working on are quite different from typical web-dev tasks, so if your only coding experience is web-development using for example React, then it is unlikely that this job will be a good match for you.

Examples of projects you might end up working on:

• Developing infrastructure for acquiring and maintaining massive GIS-datasets

• Complex spatial algorithms to process the datasets

• Transforming the end results of those algorithms into various file formats/softwares/3D-visualizations

The only strict requirements for applying are:

• Fluent in English (written + spoken)

• Live in/near the Helsinki region

• C# or three other languages and willingness to learn C#.

• Interested / curious to learn about / advance the GIS field

  
  

We don't require you to have very specific skills, as there are many different parts of Cetopo that would benefit from many different skillsets, but here is a list of some tech that you should mention if you have experience in, and you would certainly benefit from:

• AWS / cloud

• Math / Physics / Geometry

• Data structures / Algorithms

• Performance oriented coding

• Computer Vision / ML

• Testing / QA

• OGC / other standards

• GIS

• CAD / BIM

• WebGL / 3D / other visualization experience

• Front end / web assembly

Any combination of those would be valuable. Additionally you might also:

• Speak good Finnish

• Speak good Swedish

• Any other language (great for reading other countries data-specifications)

• Have some humor
