About the Programme   

Sustainability Advocates is a volunteer and educational program that runs under the roof of Station (Student Innovation House Copenhagen). It targets students and recent graduates from multiple educational backgrounds, who wish to make an impact in the field of sustainability. Through the program students gain knowledge on sustainability and how to implement it into meaningful projects, working together with companies and institutions in the Copenhagen area.

Sustainability Advocates is an entirely student-driven program where students can implement their own sustainability-related project ideas and take ownership. The program consists of a Leadership Team that jointly defines the framework of the program, commits to 4 projects, and sets goals for them. After this kick-off phase, the leadership team then recruits students to work with them on these projects for a time frame of 4 months.


General qualifications to become part of the Leadership Team 

  • Student or recent graduate in the Copenhagen area with the ability to commit to the programme 

  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team 

  • Fluent in English.  

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 

  • Open-minded, compassionate, and proactive   

  • Passionate about the UN SDGs, sustainability, and change-making  


Project Leader 

4 people with ambitious ideas on sustainability will be project leads. In the role as project lead you will be responsible of defining a project for the recruited students to work on. You will decide the scope and subject of the project, together with the Head of Programme and other project leads.

  • Proactive & engaging 

  • You are confident with taking responsibility for your team 


Tasks 

  • Seek potential partner for project 

  • Design and scope the project 

  • Be the main contact to the partner organization 

  • Define goals and outputs for the project 

  • Engage and lead the recruited students within your project

We are an interdisciplinary community of students and recent graduates who 1. create the most thriving crossdisciplinary student community 2. empower students through hands-on programmes and projects about sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship, and 3. engage in collaborations with the private, public and civic sector. We are 30-40 core volunteers and around 250 members split into smaller teams doing programmes, projects and activities. We are from every university in greater Copenhagen and specialize in a multitude of different disciplines ranging from STEM to social sciences and journalism to everything business related. We are also culturally mixed with approximately 50% Danish and 50% Internationals. We are based in the 100-year-old police station of Frederiksberg that we have just transformed to the slickest space for 52 million DKK to fit the ideas of bright minds.
