Unlocking the potential of distributed energy systems in the green energy transition through technology is close to your heart, and you possess an urge to make the world a better place for coming generations.

The fulfillment of the Watts vision highly depends on intelligent systems for managing the energy of private households – systems to support the personal green transition. Your design choices in terms of interactions and visual design will affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of users and customers across the world.

Your abilities to design and craft meaningful, easy-to-use and simple interfaces – both in the physical and digital world, will be essential for the everyday life of consumers.

You have an open-minded and curious approach to design and can get to the core of jobs to be done in given situations.

You will work closely with product & technology teams to make Watts a world-class product driven by technology visionaries, energy domain experts and users/customers. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring we also bring new market trends to the ecosystem as well as raising the bar for engagement in the green transition.

What skills will I put into action?

• Partner with Product managers, development teams, researchers, external partners and strategists to understand the domain of green energy and customer needs in order to build compelling value propositions.

• Design easy-to-use and compelling interfaces across the Watts product line from digital solutions to hardware components (Watts Home product line).

• Own the design process from sketching, experiments, prototype interactions, testing, and delivery of assets to the implementation team.

• Lead co-creation sessions with our partners and customers.

• Create input to the visual identity guide in the corporation with the Head of Comms & branding.

• Create and own the design system and component library. Craft beautiful and engaging user interfaces in close cooperation with UI designers and developers.

• Explore and create digital concepts - both pure digital (app and web) but also embedded in energy hardware like EV chargers, home energy control systems, etc.

• A keen interest in the well-being of our planet by continuously investigating green transition movements, the role of clean energy and consumer behavior.

• 5+ years experience

• Design school background or equivalent.

• Experience with design systems and atomic design.

• A true team player who cares about high-quality craftsmanship in a collaborative culture.

• Excellent visual, creative, innovative and design skills

• Solid communication and presentation skills

• A user-centered and business-driven mindset

• Proficiency in design, prototype and animation tools (Figma, Sketch, After Effects, etc)

• Familiarity with the agile development process
