Hi there. We are dQmetrics, and we are looking for a co-founder who can lead the hardware development and further develop our prototype.
The idea is to develop a wearable smart ring, which can track the daily food calorie intake automatically. The ring will collect detailed heat data on the energy, which is used to absorb and digest food. Compared to existing smart watches, we will add several new sensors, including a heat flux sensor and an infra-red temperature sensor. The combined sensor data will be used in a machine learning algorithm to predict the calorie intake.
Currently, we got a crude prototype, where the first batch of sensors is integrated and set up on a pcb. We expect to start our proof of concept within the next month, where the prototype will be mounted on a test person to get the first live testdata. You will be expected to lead the further development of the prototype and generally lead the hardware development and roadmap.
What’s in it for you?
Become co-founder in a deep tech startup with the potential to help millions of people lose weight
You get to build an innovative product, that’s never been done before
Become part of the vibrant and fast paced hardware incubator, Futurebox (which is located in DTU Science Park)
You get to work with ambitious and experienced entrepreneurs
Lots of fun, friday bars and social events
About dQmetrics:
Currently, we are two co-founders, Nikolaj and Mathias. Nikolaj is the CEO and has a business background. Mathias has led the hardware development up until now and will continue in dQmetrics as an advisory board member. This means that he will be available to you, and he can give you a general introduction to the current hardware design of the prototype.
We are looking to raise our first million in the coming 6 months and we expect to onboard the full co-founding team within this period. Besides you, we expect to onboard a ML engineer to lead our algorithm development, and a co-founder with a background in physiology to account for the biological differences from person to person.
Preferred skills:
Experience with prototyping and hardware development
Experience in creating small units and devices
Experience with 3D printing
Nice to have:
Experience with KiCad
Experience with C++ or micropython
Knowledge of microcontrollers, either STM or Nordic
General knowledge about Git is a plus
Timeline:
We aim to apply for an Innofounder grant in September 2022, where we hope to include you as co-founder. If we get the grant, we will be able to offer a paid full-time position with equity on top from the first of January 2023. Until then we are quite flexible and take your situation into account. The salary will be able to sustain you, but it’s small for the first year.
Are you the co-founder we are looking for?
Then, we would love to hear from you. Applications are reviewed continuously.
