As a Backend Developer you will curate the structure of server side information. The ultimate goal is to build a high speed, secure and stable cloud-based server solution. 

We are in a scale up phase of the company and work in small crossfuntional teams, meaning that you will interact with sales, customer success, product owner, and backend engineers on a daily basis. Our team works with clear mission statements and well defined scopes and accountability. That being said, we often change priorities quickly and a flexible mindset and willingness to develop your skill set beyond the obvious will be invaluable traits for anyone who joins us.

About the job

The Backend Developer’s responsibility is;

• Understanding customer needs and requirements and translating them into backed software logic.

• API design and development.

• Database management.

• Handle third-party services.

• Infrastructure operations, meaning dealing with monitoring/alerting services to track the performance of an application.

About you

You are a self-motivated driver that is passionate about delivering world-class customer experience. You are not fearing a start-up environment with very few formal procedures and limits, rather the opposite, you are embracing the challenge in getting them in place. Right now we are looking for a colleague who has above entry level experience, meaning that you will need to have worked as a Backend engineer for a minimum of a couple of years before joining us. We value people who are eager to learn and regardless if you’ve worked as a consultant or at a product company, you are the kind of developer who realizes that in order to build products that are loved by users, you need to stay ahead of the curve and try new things.

Beyond the obvious we would like to see evidence of the following when reviewing your profile;

• Previous experience in developing data oriented Backend applications.

• An awareness around security, performance, scalability and maintainability

• General knowledge of web service (REST) development

• Programming languages: JavaScript, Go, Python

• Backend frameworks: Express.js

• Databases: MongoDB (Mongoose), InfluxDB (Flux)

• Version Control: Git

• Virtualization: Docker

• Skilled in organizing and planning your work

• Focus on solving customer business problems with great products

• Ability to analyze and organize data and feedback coming from customer, service & support team

• Experience from the waste management industry is a plus

• You speak and write fluently in English and Swedish and have the ability to accurately communicate verbal and written technical information.
