The Role

We are looking for an experiences software engineer to help us mature and grow our technical platform at Internet scale as well as help us develop the foundations to move into additional verticals.

We are building the infrastructure to finance the Internet and allow content creators to make money online without pestering the consumers. At its core, this takes the form of

  • a revenue distribution platform,

  • a high-throughput pipeline to determine revenue share eligibility, and

  • the product offerings necessary for content creators to easily integrate with Adless.


Today, you will experience this as our subscription management platform and client integration libraries, but this is only the beginning!


We currently use these technologies. We believe in the right tool for the job so some of them will definitely change, but consider it a general guidance:

  • Go

  • React + TypeScript

  • Redis, Azure Table Storage (for cost-efficient persistent NoSQL storage) + likely Clickhouse as TSDB

  • Docker on cloud-hosted (Azure) Debian VMs with Envoy for service mesh and as edge proxy


We do not expect you to have hands-on experience with all of them, but expect you to be comfortable learning any of these (or any other technology we might adopt) as needed. We generally consider interest in personal and professional growth a big pro.


Your responsibilities:

  • Own one or more areas of the platform.

  • Develop and operate our platform.

  • Partake in on call rotations for our platform.

  • Preferably be able to work throughout the stack (i.e. be a full-stack engineer) or alternatively a preference for backend.

  • Experience with

    • FinTech

    • Internet-scale engineering

    • data ingestion or processing infrastructure, or

    • web technologies + infrastructure

    • privacy technologies and trends

    is considered a plus but not a hard requirement.


We are also looking for a Head of Engineering or CTO if the fit is right.

  • We are remote-first and do not expect you to come into an office - ever. The business will be based in Aarhus, Denmark if you care about geographical distance. If you prefer a physical office, we will arrange work hubs for those interested.

  • We expect you to be interested to grow your competencies and will make sure that you get opportunities to do so.

  • Special requirements for the core team:

    • We need you to be an EU citizen (to keep the legal process light)

    • We need you to be reasonably close to the CET/UTC+1 time zone so that we can more easily work directly together when needed.

Where Are We?

Startups come at various levels of maturity. We want to be honest with you about where we are on our journey so you make an informed decision if you want to join us.

  • We have a live product that we are starting to onboard content creators (supply) on.

  • We are actively engaging with large content creators to accelerate progress towards a critical amount of supply in select niche markets.

  • We will open up for subscribers (demand) within a month or two, depending on available supply.

  • We are currently focusing on validating the core business concept.

  • We plan to raise a Seed funding round in early fall to build out a core team, which you would be a part of. The position will be funded by this round, so we will be in close conversations to make sure you know if we are on track.

 

Target start date: October 1st or later depending on your circumstances.

Compensation: A compensation package will be assembled based on your preferences between equity/cash.
