Who we are

We are a fast-growing Oslo-based cleantech startup, where founders have combined 15 years of operational experience within renewable developments and what is required to develop and design projects fast.

We are on the mission to democratize renewable development and enable more players to generate what is required for renewable projects instantly.

The role

We have several pilot customers that we obtained based on the prototype and they are waiting for a more mature technical product. As a result, we are looking for a strong technical co-founder (CTO) who can lead our software development team and help us to launch the product in Q1 2023.

We are looking for CTO, who will have overall responsibility for building the required technical architecture, and defining and executing the technical scope. CTO is expected to fully own the choice of technology, and databases and have full control over the execution of the product based on the prototype and vision defined by the CEO and CPO.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the company's data, security, maintenance, and network of a company and may implement the company's technical strategy 

• Develop a technical roadmap & strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and strategy 

• Lead the technical development of product from early-stage prototype to a well-functioning cloud application that generates high-quality project output for customers 

• Manage the development and release of new product features and updates 

• Build development team as well as relevant IT operations, architecture and systems to ensure successful collaboration among the team 

• Designing the infrastructure and architecture of the platform to scale both with performance and quality as customer needs evolve

• Support the team in all phases of the software development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing and support, as well as lead our architecture design and future planning.

• Hiring and shaping the local and remote team as the company continues to grow 

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

• Lead other required workstreams as required (Fundraising, Business Development etc.) 

Qualifications 

• Strong and relevant technical expertise combined with strong people skills

• Proficient programming skills (Javascript, Python, React. WebGL and others)  

• Experience working with large databases 

• Have managed and led medium and large teams

• Knowledge of wider web tools and architectures

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Bonus points

• Previous experience within SaaS 

• Experience with GIS tools (Mapbox, Google Earth Engine, Leaflet etc.)

• Machine learning, satellite imagery analysis
