Most people know they need insurance, but they don’t know what to look for, what is a fair price, and what products they need. You know that feeling when you just-want-to-get-it-done-and-over-with, and bam (!), there you go - you did it, you signed an insurance of which you have no idea what it covers. There has to be a better way, right?

This is where Happens comes in. 

Insurances are crucial, yet, the complexity of the product (and concept) leads to a very low interest. Insurances are often referred to as a “low interest product”, but we at Happens want to change that.

Our vision is to make insurance more interesting, engaging, fun, simple and most importantly - understandable. Happens helps people find, sign, swap and manage insurances throughout life. In short - we’re striving to evolve the way people buy and manage insurance.

The position & responsibilities

You will be teaming up with our CTO, where you will be using your front end development skills to create the next state-of-the-art insurance experience. Happens consists of two major components. The aggregator and the platform for signed up members. Our aggregator helps people to find the right insurance at the time of purchase in an easy and intuitive way. The platform aims to offer users the ability to import, overview, keep track of, top off, challenge and manage all their insurances in one account with Happens. 

By combining our aggregator and platform, we hope to help every single Happens user to remain correctly insured when life takes its toll.

You will be a part of improving the user experience for both components, as well as implementing new ideas.

Some of the technologies you will be working with are Gatsby, React, Material-UI. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Web development (JavaScript ES6+, React)

We would love if:

• From paper to web: you are familiar with UX/UI design and love to implement your own designs.

• You enjoy keeping up to the date with the latest UI/UX design and tech trends

• You enjoy working in a team to elaborate on ideas and iterate.

The circumstances can change fast at a startup and all of us need to be able to adjust after new goals and changes for the best of the company.

• Either fluent in Swedish or English

The practical

The position is full-time and located in Stockholm. We are a digital organization, meaning your work location can be flexible one to two days a week, but we prefer seeing each other in the office to bond and execute problem-solving more efficiently! :-)

Happens is a young company that builds an insurance platform for the modern & digital individual. Our primary target audience is between 19 and 40 years old and yes, we understand that insurance is not the most thrilling thing - which is why we are creating a service to help you out, whether you are just about to move into your first student dorm or about to start a family. 

We are a small and dynamic team that work closely in a relaxed environment. Today, we are 5 people working together and you will be our next superhero. We enjoy working together and helping each other out where we can with what we know. We feel like a small family that enjoy having breakfast together on mondays and play games and do outside-of-work activities a few times per month. 

We share the mindset that we’re working together to create a product that has a positive impact for a large market by helping people with (possibly) the most important safety-net they have through life.
