Freyja is looking for a passionate back-end developer to join our young team as our second in-house developer. We just closed a 6-figure pre-seed round and are now excited to grow the team to work on our mission to fight sexual harassment and abuse with a safe and sustainable adult social media platform.

Your role

So far, we have worked with an external development agency. We are now hiring web developers to take over the development in-house. As the second in-house web-developer, you will work closely with the founders and have the opportunity to participate in strategic decisions just as much as leaving your mark with every line of code you write.

Tasks include:

• Making technical decisions in regards to the platform

• Implementing the best practices and coding standards of the project.

• Collaborating with front-end developers on the integration of elements

• Developing high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.

• Implementing effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions.

• Work on dev-ops, CI/CD, environments, configuring services over cloud etc

• Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development.

Currently, we use the following technologies/frameworks:

• ReactJS

• NodeJS

• NestJS

• PostgreSQL

• TypeORM

Essential skills:

• Strong proficiency with NodeJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks.

• Experience in building backend applications using NodeJS frameworks such as Express, StrongLoop, NestJS etc.

• Experience with design and development of Rest APIs (Swagger)

• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.

• Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

• Experience working with database systems as well as data modelling for SQL databases such as PostgresSQL.

• Experience working with AWS services like S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SES, SNS etc

• Experience with AWS CI/CD tools like AWS Code Commit, Code Deploy etc

• Experience working with Docker and Container architecture and exposure to Kubernetes.

• Experience in creating a reliable microservices based architecture.

• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

Freyja is fighting sexual abuse and violence by building a safe and sustainable adult social media. Think instagram meets Tiktok meets OnlyFans.

Freyja's mission is to reduce sexual harassment and abuse, which stems from the consumption of unregulated and unmoderated harmful content on existing adult entertainment platforms. As sex-educators, charities, brands, and performers are often blocked from using mainstream social media, users are left with the content on harmful platforms which they often (unintentionally) copy. By offering creators a safe space to interact with their audience and users a place to find what they are looking for, Freyja improves sexual education and prevents sexual harassment and abuse.

We are building a remote first team with founders being located in London (UK) and Helsinki (Finland).
