Job description

Do you want to challenge yourself to solve optimization problems for collecting waste while contributing to our mission of a greener, cleaner, and more intelligent waste collection worldwide? You will work closely with management and lead developers to determine the direction of the next generation of waste management systems. The WasteHero platform harnesses machine learning to optimize every aspect of waste management, such as route optimization and prediction of container fullness. The engineering team consists of data engineers, data scientists, frontend & backend engineers, product designers, and managers. The perfect candidate has years of industry experience working as a Django developer and thrives with responsibility.

In your role as a Python developer, your daily tasks will draw from the following list of examples:

• Develop new scalable features to solve real-life customer problems.

• Dare to go new ways to solve technical issues and take ownership.

• Improve and scale our platform as we continue to grow our business.

• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers.

• Ensure state-of-art direction for the technical development.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with backend development, preferably in Python (we use Django), in a large-scale software application

• Expertise with relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)

• Experience with services/frameworks such as RabbitMQ, Redis, Graphene-Python

• Feel comfortable with using Git and project management tools like Jira

• A natural curiosity for new scripting languages, frameworks, and technologies

• Knowledgeable with Agile – Scrum way of working

• Can work in a spontaneous and dynamic atmosphere with split-second decisions
