Wanna be a part of making the world a friendlier place? We’re Speedfriending, a small startup that’s part event company, part tech company. We enable people to find new, meaningful friendships. We do this primarily through our Speedfriending events, of which we’ve now held close to 200. Speedfriending is the fun and social twin sister of speed dating, where the goal is to find new friends. We’re also taking Speedfriending into the digital sphere, and you can find our app in the App Store and Google Play.
We are currently looking for someone to build decentralized Speedfriending branches under the Speedfriending umbrella. The position will be part-time, but with the potential of a full-time engagement if the branch achieves the necessary growth to warrant it. Up until recently we’ve been traveling around Norway to make these events happen. We are now in the process of decentralizing our event operations, employing Project Managers who want to spread Speedfriending in their local region.
The central Speedfriending organization will support you, leveraging our expertise from organizing close to 200 Speedfriending events, connect you with existing partners and clients in your area and give you the playbook on how to sell, market, organize and host Speedfriending events. Heading up a Speedfriending branch is typically a two-person job, if not for any other reason than having two people present at bigger events will be necessary. Thus this position should either be split between two people working part-time, or by one person who recruits one or more aids to help with practical matters.
In this role you will:
Build relationships with clients and suitable strategic partners
Pitch, sell, plan, market and host Speedfriending concepts and events
Operate Speedfriending social media accounts for your local branch
Coordinate, grow and collaborate together with Speedfriending HQ in Oslo
Be a sparring partner for the rest of the Speedfriending team on all kinds of other topics and decisions
We think you:
Are looking for a part-time engagement next to your work/studies
Are based in or close to a Scandinavian city (not Oslo) of ~50,000 inhabitants or more, and speak a Scandinavian language
Are an outgoing and caring person who shares our motivation to solve loneliness and enable friendship and community
Have some experience organizing and coordinating events and/or people
Have some experience with sales and building and maintaining good client relationships
Have some basic experience with social media marketing
Are self-driven and don’t mind working remotely from the rest of the organization
As a part of our team, you'll get:
The hustle of an early-stage startup, with the possibility of high growth and global impact
A challenging experience with a steep learning curve
An opportunity to help solve one of society's biggest challenges
Flexible working hours that can be combined with studies or other jobs
This job comes with several perks and benefits
