We are looking for a developer with tremendous potential to join the Slush Development Team to build the next generation of event products enabling extraordinary experiences, online and offline.

Slush is an entrepreneurial movement driving a paradigm shift towards a new era of entrepreneurship.

Our main tool for the change is Slush Main Event – the world's leading startup event taking place at the end of the year in Helsinki. The Development Team at Slush is responsible for ensuring high-quality event experience for our event-goers, from the ticket purchase to our in-house Matchmaking Tool. In addition, the Development Team is in charge of developing Node by Slush.

Job description:

In this role, you will be developing products & tools for both Slush’s internal use and its customers in close collaboration with different Slush teams.

The right person for this role will have the ability to learn by doing and will not be afraid of taking ownership of developing world-class products that our customers love.

This position reports to the Head of Technology and works with three other developers and a UI/UX designer.

Responsibilities:

• Write readable, testable and efficient code.

• Create and maintain software documentation.

• Contribute to the product roadmap.

• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

• Talking and testing with customers/users in development.

• Technical customer support throughout the year.

• Collaborate with different teams in-house.

Our current tech stack:

Technologies: Node.js, React, Typescript, PostgreSQL, REST APIs and Google Cloud Platform.

Tools: Bitbucket, Figma, Jira.

Ideally you’d have:

• 1-2 years of experience in web/software development through work, studies or hobby projects.

• Good collaboration skills (e.g., coordinating, building consensus, influencing without authority, listening, being open to others' perspectives).

• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.

• A passion to build amazing products.

• Ability to work in English.

Bonus points for:

• Experience implementing products/services with 3rd party partners.

• Experience building and consuming internal/external APIs.

• Interest towards some specialisation field, for example backend development, data & analytics, user research, or machine learning.

• Entrepreneurial spirit.

Commitment:

Ideally, we would like you to start in June. This is a fixed term contract until the end of 2022.
