World’s Sports Groups is looking for a lead front end developer to join us on our journey to create outstanding web experiences for our customers.  

Our core business is building marketplaces for the mass participation industry and are working with both B2B clients (organizers and industry players) and end-customers (participants). Your responsibility is to ensure that we offer our users the best possible experience, whether it is a runner buying tickets for a marathon in an exotic destination, or helping an organizer list its events with us.

As our lead front end developer you will be the one taking our front front end endeavours to the next level. You will be part of our product team, working closely together with your fellow developers and some lovely UI/UX designers. We’re a distributed company and while we are totally happy for you to work from the comfort of your own home, we also hope that you’ll see the value in working together in person with our product team, based in Stockholm, Malmö and Berlin.

We’re still a fairly young company (founded in 2016) but are the first to admit we have some technical debt to pay off and that’s why we are modernizing our tech stack bit by bit. We are in the process of moving away from our monolith .NET Framework app to fun and state of the art technologies such as Next.js (and pure React), Vue, Tailwind CSS and GraphQL, while still running backends on .NET Core, NodeJS and Ruby On Rails, all cloud native, of course.

Core competencies we appreciate in you:

• Experience with Next.JS (and obviously React)

• Interest and/or experience with Tailwind CSS

• If you’ve built design libraries it’s a big plus (we haven’t decided just yet but are leaning towards Storybook)

• Material UI (or MUI, if you prefer), because hey - we don’t need to invent all UIs ourselves.

• You hopefully already have some ideas on what the next great front end thing is and are willing to explore that with us.

• SEO is a big part of what we do, so it would be great if you are as interested in building great user experience as we are.

• Guide and help your teammates with planning and delivering high-quality software and also take on communication across teams.

• You are familiar with a testing library and know how a good unit test looks like

In this role we expect you to be able to lead and contribute with new ways of attacking old challenges, so we think you have probably worked a few years already and that you are opinionated, but not stubborn.
