Job description

As a React Native Developer at WasteHero, you will be able to challenge yourself with cutting edge technologies. You will be faced with challenges such as building new applications for both iOS and Android devices and work on our existing applications, Navigation app, and Installation app.

Your daily tasks could be draw from the following list of examples:

• Develop new features to solve real-life customer problems

• Collaborate with designers, product managers and engineers

• Work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow and gain more responsibility

• Improve and scale our platform as we continue to grow

• Set your mark on products and new launches - your projects are your responsibility

Responsibilities

• Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.

• Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with our product portfolio.

• Diagnose and fix bugs while identifying bottlenecks to ensure high-quality performance

• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.

• Working closely with user researcher, engineers, and managers.

The Essentials

• Study a relevant field for mobile development

• Experience with working with technical and non-technical people

• Advanced understanding of; React Native, React, JavaScript, ES6+, Node.js

• Experience working with GraphQL,Apollo GraphQL and GraphQL subscriptions

• Experience with React Native, React and function components

• Experience using common design patterns. High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance

• High understanding of mobile development UI/UX design principles and best practices

• Feel comfortable with: Jira and Git (Bitbucket)

• A natural curiosity for new scripting languages, frameworks, and technologies

• Knowledgeable with Agile – Scrum way of working

Nice-To-Haves

• Experience with building turn by turn navigation apps

• Experience with usability testing

• Proficient with TypeScript

• Experience creating, maintaining, and shipping top-ranking mobile apps

• Experience with StoryBook or other design systems

What you need to know

The internship is paid (if your place of study allows it) and full-time to fit with your University's requirements. The internship runs for five to six months, depending on your needs. We are always interested in hiring interns afterwards, either as student workers or full-time employees, so there are plenty of opportunities for work after the internship, based on performance.

Start date:  between August - September 2022

Duration:  between five to six months
