About Veri

Veri is an early-stage startup on a mission to help people feel go(o)d through better metabolic health.

We do this by providing everyone access to their metabolic health data through a continuous glucose monitor and combine it with magical software to provide actionable insights related to nutrition and performance.

Our journey started in a hacker house in the Bay Area where three frustrated, driven-to-build-things-kind-of-minds, got together to build a product that wasn't available to us and our closest community.

Role

Veri is looking to hire a Financial Controller to support our growth with consistent financial strategy. You would be a key player in building the finance function at Veri, mainly responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and developing the internal processes.

Typical days include building reports for investors, analysing costs and returns of projects and new initiatives, handling the daily finances and developing those processes. You’ll be an integral part of the Operations team building the processes that support Veri’s growth to help 1 million people off the path of poor metabolic health by 2023.

This is a full-time position located in our Helsinki HQ, Finland. We support both remote and in-office work.

What will you be doing?

• Budgeting and forecasting for different functions and projects within the entire company

• Developing the finance operations and accounting policies to a new level together with external accountants

• Managing the accounting processes in Finland & US

• Coordinate and overlook the regulatory reporting with accountants

What do we expect?

• Solid knowledge in Finnish Accounting Standards

• Knowledge in financial planning & analysis

• Degree in relevant field, e.g. accounting or finance

• You are self-directed and detail oriented active team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Process

1. Intro chat with Amy & Nuutti (30 minutes)

   You'll first talk with Nuutti on a 30-minute call; you won't need to prepare anything in advance. We would love to hear your story, where you're aiming to go and understand if we can be helpful in that journey. The purpose is to give you a thorough overview of the current lay of the land. You'll get to ask questions and we'd also love to hear about your sweet spot and interests.

2. Task + Demo (3 hours + 45 minutes)

   We'll provide you a task to assess your skills and execution. After finishing the task you'll get to demo your work to a few people from our operations team.

   Here you’ll get to ask more questions about the company and our ways of working. We'd also love to hear about your sweet spot and interests within the areas we are working on.

   Here again, if we feel that you could contribute to our work and you're excited about the challenges we face we'll move forward.

3. Meeting the Crew (2-3 x 30 minutes)

   We'll get Anttoni, our CEO, and a 1-2 more people from the team to interview you and to touch base one last time before making a final decision. If we collectively believe there is a good fit we’ll make you an offer following our Open Compensation Model.
