The job
Tjekvik is seeking a seasoned CTO with an experience or interest in the automotive industry, software-as-a-service and scale-up environments. This key leadership position will lead our architectural roadmap, growing technical teams with responsibility for the eco-system of integrations, software applications, technical operations, security and infrastructure as well as being part of the company executive team.
Tjekvik is embracing the mega trends in automotive aftersales where electric vehicles, mobility and downsizing of vehicles are changing how a car dealership operates whilst at the same time meeting increased convenience expectations from car owners. At our current state we provide 450+ dealerships in Europe with our self-service solutions and we are still in the beginning of the growth curve. Our customers include BMW, Daimler and VW. The future is in front of us.
The opportunity
In the near term Tjekvik expects to double in organisational size to over 50 people, increasing our presence in markets outside of Europe, quadruple the usage of the platform and meet increased technical governance from large dealer groups and car manufacturers. At the same time, we expect the digital transformation in the automotive industry to require more expectations of us as the market leader. The longer-term market transformation will see us increase our investments in our eco-system of integrations, security, intelligence, and vehicle personalisation, which you as CTO will play a key role in orchestrating.
Already today Tjekvik has a strong and remote technical organisation, organised in three small self-contained teams called eco-system (data integrations), core (applications and intelligence) and business development (experiments and outliers). The current technology stack consists of Ruby on Rails, React, Linux, Heroku/AWS
Born remote, so we do not have any offices – and are good at working this way as this is has been our choice. Despite our distributed and autonomous nature we maintain close connections with a really strong team and company spirit.
The c-level leadership team, that you will join, consist of a CEO (DK), COO/CPO (DK), CSO (UK).

Qualifications
Experience as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Engineering Manager, Engineering lead or similar
Hands-on experience in growing, developing, and leading an international team of developers
Experience with software-as-a-service and/or automotive data is a plus
Experience with large enterprises as customers and related processes
Strong communicator and relation builder
Fluent English – other language skills beneficial
You are self-driven, take responsibility for big and small things and fancy working in a remote organisation.
Where
The position can be remotely based anywhere in the EU or in our office in Copenhagen. Most of our technical team is based in Poland and our customers are for the time being mainly in Europe but becoming more geographically diverse each day.
