The European Space Agency Business Incubation Centre Denmark (ESA BIC DK) is looking for a hands-on, ambitious and self-driven Pre-incubation Program Lead with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.


The ESA BIC DK supports early-stage space-related startups to promote the commercialization of space technology and satellite data for the benefit of Danish industry, human welfare and society at large.


The ESA BIC DK comprises a national management unit located at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and three incubation hubs at the University of Aalborg, the University of Aarhus and at DTU in Kgs. Lyngby. The Pre-incubation Program Lead will play a key role at the ESA BIC DK by coordinating and ensuring the continuous development of a strong pre-incubation program, contributing to the development of a strong pipeline of candidates for the ESA BIC incubation program and by building collaboration with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.


The job  In close collaboration with the ESA BIC DK team, the Pre-incubation Program Lead will:

  • Scout for new early-stage space-related startups and startups which can utilize space

  • Ensure continuous successful development and execution of our pre-incubation accelerator Launchpad

  • Coordinate and develop the ESA BIC DK pre-incubation activities in close collaboration with other stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem

  • Provide pre-incubation support for ESA BIC DK candidates

  • Build collaborations with stakeholders in universities, incubators and the entrepreneurial ecosystem for pre-incubation support for startups


Professional qualifications  We are looking for a junior team member with:  

  • BSc or MSc within Business, Physics, Engineering or similar

  • Sharp eye for scouting and identifying new promising startup candidates

  • Experience with high-tech entrepreneurship

  • Strong entrepreneurial skills

  • Experience working with or in startups

  • Passion and interest in the latest startup trends

  • Basic technological and scientific literacy

Salary and appointment terms The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

You will be employed at DTU Space at the Technical University of Denmark.

You will be reporting to ESA BIC Denmark manager Sune Nordentoft Lauritsen. The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus, Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.

We are looking for a candidate to fill the position as soon as possible. The duration of the appointment is until the end of 2024.

The incubator is led by The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in collaboration with the Danish Ministry for Higher Education and Science, University of Aalborg, University of Aarhus, The Danish Industry Foundation and other partners from academia, science parks, industry and Danish government agencies. The main objective of the Danish ESA BIC is to create and strengthen communities of successful space-related start-ups in Denmark by supporting 40 start-ups during the period of 2020-24.
