Your mission at Mano:

Mano is looking for a Head of Strategy to join our amazing team in Copenhagen, and drive our thinking and doing across our brand and activation strategy services. You will join and lead a growing team of strategists and planners and work directly with clients to help them reach their campaign ambitions and brand aspirations. 

Your goal is to help grow Mano as a team, business and culture, by leading and developing a successful Strategy Team that deliver exceptional value to our clients. You are the first responder and last frontier of quality work and satisfied clients, in collaboration with our Head of Orchestration. Developing the amazing talent we already have today and attracting the talent we need tomorrow is a key driver for your success, and you will have 8 direct reports to start with (that number is expected to increase as the company grows).

While your main focus is on the team and enabling them to deliver successful solutions to our clients by providing the sufficient support and infrastructure (learning systems, strategic models and principles), you will also be part of the front line, directly interacting with key clients and helping Mano grow key accounts through the work we deliver and the relationships we build. There will be moments to roll up your sleeves - especially when we face new strategy problems or challenges where we have to find new ways of working and deliver what our clients need. In those situations, your role is also about expanding the teams’ comfort zone, showing them directions and ultimately leading them to the desired outcome. 


You will:

  • Manage, develop and enable a team of 8 brilliant strategists

  • Co-produce inspired and insightful solutions to key strategy and orchestration challenges

  • Develop strategy proposals and pitches to clients and agencies

  • Supervise Insight Compasses (planning / insight work) and help define the vision for our insight product

  • Guide and support strategists to produce activation proposals for clients/campaigns

  • Move seamlessly between big strategic solutions to real tactical and pragmatic solutions

  • Co-evolve Mano’s strategy services and toolbox to the far edges of its potential where it delivers ultimate value for clients’ current and future needs


Our expectations to the role:

As Head of Strategy, you are expected to have deep-rooted experience across primary disciplines of brand and campaign strategy and planning, and the capacity to exercise thought leadership in the way you engage with your team and with your clients. You lead by example and know how to organise and manage teams, enabling them in solving complex marketing challenges and in growing professionally. 

You have management experience and experiences working with international clients and complex campaign systems. You understand all facets of taking a campaign from idea to market, while specialising in building strategy concepts and solutions that elevate creativity through activation. You have a passion for the dynamics of marketing and the different disciplines that make up a campaign, and you believe in insight-led solutions over fancy slides. 


Key qualities and requirements:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated success building brand and campaign strategy 

  • Team-player mentality and a passion for leadership

  • Proven record in leading and developing a successful team 

  • Understanding of client and agency side of marketing

  • Experience with international clients and campaigns is critical

  • Client management and development is a natural extension of your work

  • Problem oriented mindset and strategic approach to communication

  • Experience with data-driven insight planning is a plus

  • Experience from client-side is a plus, experience from agency/consultancy-side is a must
