Who we are

We are ferritico, a Swedish software company disrupting the global steel industry. Based on more than 10 years of leading KTH research we are developing a machine learning software provided to our customers as a modularized SaaS. The ferritico service digitalizes the processes of developing, manufacturing and implementing steel, helping our customers to significantly cut time and costs.

We aggregate large sets of steel properties and process data and apply physical-based and machine learning models enabling our customers to predict and view correlations in data when optimizing materials, products and processes. Ferritico is currently providing the opportunity for an engineering student with great interest in Web Development to do an Internship at Ferritico.

The Internship

This internship constitutes a unique opportunity to join the Ferritico team in central Stockholm and to initiate a potential career in web development. As a Web Development Intern, you will be given a lot of responsibility and autonomy in making our machine learning models available to our customers as web services and to boost the UX through design and implementation of dashboard capabilities and simulation features. Your work will foster the highly profitable shift towards data-driven work patterns within steel development and manufacturing and include:

• Web design, basic updates and improvements of the GUI using bootstrap and photoshop based on the Ferritico brand book    

• Developing web services, dashboard and workflow capabilities making our machine learning models accessible with state-of-the-art UX

• Implementing TypeScript code that consumes and aggregates the machine learning micro services, applies business logic and makes simulation results accessible for the GUI

• Implementing frontend with ReactJS, bootstrap and SCSS based on design sketches    

• Managing customer authentication and authorization in Auth0 and develop support to package and make modules available on an authorization and customer license basis

Requirements:

• Strong programming interest, specifically React, TypeScript and Node

• Git for version management

Meriting skills:

• Machine learning in scikit-learn and pandas libraries

• Database management in SQL
