We are developing Ember Sword, a groundbreaking platform-agnostic and Free-to-Play MMORPG set in a player-driven fantasy universe, with digital collectible cosmetics and a blockchain-enhanced economy.

It’s a universe where the players control the world through true land ownership. A game in which all valuable cosmetic items are tokenized as scarce non-fungible crypto-collectibles, which are acquired by players through gameplay objectives, instead of sold through loot boxes. With a fan community spanning more than a hundred thousand people, a strong advisory board, a $2M investment round this year, and a very successful first land sale campaign ($1.5M) that sold out in just a few hours, Ember Sword is aiming high and growing fast.

As a web developer at Bright Star Studios, you'll be doing front-end and/or back-end web development. We care greatly about the quality and performance of our code and don't shy away from refactoring if needed.

The MUSTs

• You are a creative coder with a strong feel for design and microservices.

• You have good coding skills. Specifically in HTML5, SCSS, JS (Vue JS) for front-end. Golang or Nodejs for back-end. Postgress and Redis for the database.

• You can do rapid prototyping to evaluate ideas.

• Experience in backend services such as Postgres for DB + Redis, microservices architecture, Prometheus for data aggregation, Logstash for logging, and Docker for all microservices.

• You are willing to relocate to Denmark (Aarhus or Copenhagen) or able to convince us that you won't have to.

The GOOD TO HAVEs

• 5+ years of experience in the industry – we’re open-minded and would gladly talk to enthusiastic applicants with varying levels of experience

• Genuine love for MMOs and/or RPGs

• Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines

Practical INFO:

• Ember Sword is developed using a custom game engine

• We have a very agile approach to development, with a very flat hierarchy

• Job starts right away (as soon as possible)
