About Clutch

A “clutch” athlete performs well under pressure, in decisive moments of the game. Clutch is on a mission to create virtual training tools for racket sports that help players and coaches realize their full potential. Clutch is also a social platform for players, coaches and fans to learn, engage and inspire. Our training tools are built with cutting edge Artificial Intelligence technology that tracks players’ shots and movements on court. With Clutch, players and coaches get trackable performance analytics and video highlight tools for every match and training session.

We are working with some of the world’s best badminton players and coaches throughout our early product development. We are launching a beta test starting in the fall, which will include thousands of players uploading video through the app.

We are a pre-seed startup with backing from strong partners in the Nordics. Our team is highly ambitious, light-hearted and social. Our founding team is based between Copenhagen and Barcelona. We believe in the value of building an agile remote team and that's why remote is our default. We are looking into establishing satellite offices and access to co-working spaces in select European cities.

Role and responsibilities

We are looking for two full stack engineers with expertise in progressive web applications to be key members in the team to develop next-generation technologies that change how racket sports athletes approach their game, improve and connect.

You will be in charge of the development of our web app at Clutch. Through the web app players and coaches can access analytics and video highlight generation tools as well as some social networking functionality. Working closely with other engineers in cross-functional teams, you will design, prototype, build, and launch new user experiences.

We have built a working prototype fully integrated in Amazon Web Services (Lambda, EC2, S3 and RDS) using Django. We are early stage so you will have the opportunity to help us lay the foundation for what frameworks and technologies we launch with.

Minimum qualifications

• 3+ years experience developing great consumer-facing mobile app experiences;

• Fluent in either or both iOS and Android;

• Fluent in cross-platform languages such as React Native and Flutter;

• Experience in JavaScript, Vue, React or similar;

• Experience with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB);

• Incorporate user feedback, understand how users interact with the app and

  experiment with A/B testing throughout the release of a product;

• Experience building scalable progressive web applications;

• Highly ambitious, self-motivated and a team player;

• Passion for creating excellent products with a great user experience.

Bonus qualifications

• Experience with the AWS suite (EC2, RDS, Lambda).

• Experience in web application frameworks such as Django and Ruby on Rails.

• Experience working with video and consumer apps, especially sports,

  eSports, gaming and social.

• Passion for racket sports never hurt anybody!
