Maria 01 has grown to be one of the most relevant ecosystem players in the Nordic region. Located in a beautiful old hospital in central Helsinki, Maria 01 houses over 170 startups, 13 venture capital funds, and other ecosystem supporters, with 1300 international individual members working full-time on tech and startups. 

Over 300 events are organized yearly at the house. We are looking for a Events and Production Manager

Producing events and bringing people together is something we are passionate about. Some of the community events we are organizing on a frequent basis are breakfasts, investor collectives, workshops, venturing programs, and partner events. We also organize bigger events and productions such as Maria 365 and multiple side events during the Slush week. To bring our events operations to the next level, we are now looking for an Events and Production Manager to join our team. 

As the Events and Production Manager, you will be responsible for all events taking place at Maria 01. This means you will coordinate all internal Maria 01 community events and events hosted by external organizations. In addition, you are the main person in charge of producing all Maria 01 hosted events and parties in all formats. 

You will also be the technical go-to person. This means all audio and visual-related questions by our community and team should be handled by you. Therefore technical skills related to audio, streaming, and virtual conferencing tools is needed.

You will be in charge of all four event spaces at Maria 01 campus and also take care of our newly built streaming studio and be responsible for all the video conferencing equipment in the meeting rooms. You will also manage all the production vendor partners. Together with our Networks and Marketing team, you will co-create marketing and communications material about the Maria 01 event services.

To succeed in this role you should be passionate about producing events, and have technical expertise for streaming video and audio tools. As you will be responsible for managing the event services as well as coordinating some of the external events, customer centricity and excellent customer service skills are needed. You will work in a fast-paced environment, therefore, having strong teamwork skills, social skills, and the ability to communicate clearly is essential.

As the Events and Production Manager, you will be part of the Maria 01 Networks team and report directly to the Chief Networks Officer Jessica Blechingberg. 

This position requires onsite work and the person is expected to work mostly from Maria 01 campus in Helsinki, Finland. 

As a Events and Production Manager you will:

• Be in charge of producing internal Maria 01 events (and parties) and coordinating external events

• Be responsible for all Maria 01 event spaces and act as the studio manager for Maria 01 streaming studio 

• Be responsible for all audio and visual equipment of all Maria 01 campus meeting rooms

• Be the technical go-to person with all audio and visual related questions and issues

• Be the contact person for event inquiries and reservations

• Be the contact person for all event production vendor partners

Great candidates will probably identify the following:

• Interest in startups, community building, venture capital, and corporate innovation

• Passionate about bringing people together, organizing and producing events and parties

• Technical ability and know-how to operate and develop equipment related to our events and meeting rooms

• Experience in producing events on all major streaming tools and platforms (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, Youtube, Vimeo)

• Self-starter with a positive attitude, entrepreneurial approach, and can-do mentality

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Well-organized and a good sense of logistics

• A creative mind and strong team-player

• Mindset and willingness to grow and learn

• Interest to work in an international, inclusive, and diverse environment
