Building an iconic swim-brand

Since Watery was launched in late 2016 by former elite-swimmer Daniel, the business has enjoyed consistent growth rates of 150% year-to-year ending on +25 DKK mio. revenue in 2020 and projected reach above  3-digit mill. in 2022 with a young motivated work-force of 25 people.

The business has been running as a regular wholesale-business, but will now transform more into a international direct-to-consumer strategy and revolutionize the swimming industry. To support these ambitions, we’re scaling the C-level team, which already consists of our CEO, CMO and Head of Ecommerce, with a CFO to accelerate growth and unleash the full potential.

In this role as CFO / Head of Operations, you’ll be responsible for budgets, financial reporting and in addition lead the on-going optimization of the operations including warehouse and supply chain together with the respective managers. 

In a very close partnership with the CEO you will be working on both a strategic and operational level taking Watery to the next level internationally, scale-up the company securing the important back-bone of the business running effectively and contribute to many projects and key strategic decisions across the company

You will come in just before our big investments in future international growth come into life and be a part of a motivated and young environment, where the best ideas always win and everyone is in it to make a real difference in the water sports industry. 

Your key responsibilities

• 3 direct reports: Accounting, warehousing and supply chain.

• Responsible for budgets, forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting (daily accounting is not part of this)

• Making sure the operation is cost-effective and lean from sourcing own products in far-east/southern Europe to shipping the packages to the customers.

• Responsible for third party vendor agreements such as shipping, payments, logistics, warehouse.

• Optimizing the entire supply chain including stock turnover, cash management and negotiation product pricing. 

• Hire the right people in your responsible departments together with managers.

• Decide strategic investments in work-force and fundraising in close collaboration with the CEO.

About your professional background and what we’re looking for

• Bachelor, HD (Business Diploma) or M.Sc. in Business Administration, Finance or similar.

• You have already a strong practical foundation within financial management and maybe want to take the next step up (or already have) as a leader and responsible.

• You back up all decisions by numbers and have a passion for developing people.

• Experience and understanding of the value chain, cohorts and order economics - in the best case from a retailer or an e-commerce company, which sells consumer goods. 

• Have experience from a growth company and have successfully changed workflows in order to support growth and operations

• A fast learner, who is able to pick up new things quickly.

• You could come from positions as Head of Finance / Finance Controller / CFO with operational responsibilities.
