Carbo Culture is seeking a German-speaking intern to join the team for 3 months (part-time possible).

Carbo Culture is a climate technology company on a mission to reverse climate change by drawing down atmospheric carbon. We are headquartered in Helsinki with a subsidiary in the US. We collaborate online across time zones.
Our Head of Commercialization (based in New York) is looking for an intern to support our commercialization strategy. From the agricultural sector to the chemical industry, our functional biocarbon has many potential applications. We are looking to expand our business by entering into new markets with a focus on the German-speaking region. This requires a strategic investigation into ~5 different applications for our material to see if there is a fit. Therefore, the successful candidate will work closely with our Head of Commercialization to investigate new markets and to talk to as many industry leaders as possible.
Success in this role means that you will have found and reached out to 100s of contacts and set up 50-70 conversations with industry leaders. You will also have co-conducted interviews and drawn data-driven conclusions about the right markets for Carbo Culture.
In this role you will learn how to conduct professional market research. This will enable you to assess business ideas and to help any organization grow at its most fundamental level. Role & Responsibilities
Find senior leaders within each potential applications of our material (plastics, agriculture, environmental remediation etc.) via online search
Establish initial contact with market leaders to set up meetings (via email/Linkedin, outreach tool available)
Co-develop an interview strategy to understand what drives participants in each industry
Co-conduct interviews with market leaders
Carry out the analysis and turn your insights into a market strategy
Your experience and skills
Fluent in German and proficient in English
First experience in B2B sales or market research
First experience in talking to customers and conducting interviews
Experience in cold outreach
Analytical skills, especially in analyzing qualitative data
Your characteristics to bring to the team
You are deeply passionate about climate tech
You are a self-starter who does not rely on a lot of guidance
You are unshaken in the face of adversity and you have grit
You are a critical thinker who constantly evaluates facts that are presented
Not necessary, but we’d love it:
Experience working in a startup-like, fast-moving organization
Experience in material science, chemistry, environmental engineering or biotechnology
