PLEASE NOTE: this position is designed for students who need work experience for credits. Compensation is dependent on the work experience program. 

What we are looking for

We’re looking for an energetic, brave, responsible, and detail oriented individual eager to make their mark on our events. The role is a fixed term position designed for students in the field of events management, tourism, hospitality or other related fields. We are looking for an individual who wants to gain experience in all aspects of the event planning process and running a business. The selected candidate will have the chance to learn about the industry firsthand and have high accountability as they will be given high priority, real world tasks throughout the internship.

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Be enrolled in an ongoing related field of study;

• Have high energy, a positive attitude and an appetite to learn;

What you will be doing

Your energy will help drive us and our customers towards success! You will do this by:

• Assisting in all aspects of planning events, working with clients, event coordination, and execution. 

• Assisting in creating event collateral, and outreach through media and social media channels, and email blasts.

• Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality event execution;

• Conducting research, making site visits, and finding resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities;

• Proposing new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process:

• Providing outstanding customer service, being an enthusiastic professional, and being able to build relationships with internal and external customers:

• Being able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines.

Please note: occasionally we host events in the evenings or weekends. But don’t panic! Your hour will be compensated as time off in lieu.
