Job description
The perfect candidate thinks outside of the box, can operate on a strategic and operational level. The candidate can steer a sales process between technical and commercial teams in order to deliver strong value propositions to end-customers. WasteHero is at a nascent stage of our growth journey and we’re looking for a talented VP of Public Sector to join our team. You will be placed directly in the middle of the commercial team, where you will help to determine growth strategy and execute on it. You will be working closely with our sales team and CEO and will have plenty of freedom and responsibility find the right growth strategy. Your job assignments will include:
Do you get a kick out of managing and delivering high value end-to-end waste management solutions via direct sales or partnerships to governmental entities? Want to be part of redefining modern-day waste management software all over the world? Then you might just be our new VP of Public Sector!
Map and understand existing sales channels, which targets the public sector
Exploit existing distribution channels, and scale up ongoing projects
Test new sales channels e.g., partnership sales, direct sales, webinars, trade councils in different regions of the world
Set up automated processes to identify upcoming opportunities
Modify and fine tune our lead engine to strengthen outbound and inbound channels
Manage the entire tender process from the first entry into the sales pipeline to maintaining and ensuring successful implementation
Be at the forefront of prioritizing the right leads to aid the company’s overall strategy and milestones
Join a steering group to help fine-tune the go-to-market narrative, and be lead on the global public sector strategy
About you
A curious mindset, eagerness to learn and be challenged, and enthusiasm about joining a scaleup where freedom and responsibility are valued over formal procedures is a must. We also expect you to have:
A strong commercial sense, preferably you have international scaling experience
7+ years of experience interacting and negotiating with government bodies via various distribution channels
You approach public tenders in a structured manner and are used to take the lead in the process
You can comprehend high-level strategic thinking, but have the ability to execute and learn fast from ideas
You value scaleup culture, where things move fast and not everything is defined, but up for grabs!
Have a sales mindset, and not shy away from cross-collaboration with commercial and technical teams
You have a fail fast/test approach and are willing to make mistakes as part of the learning process
Fluent in English and can communicate technical information, both spoken and written
Experience in the waste management industry is a plus but not a requirement
