About the Data team and the role
We're a highly collaborative and creative team of three Data Scientists focused on getting actionable insights from the vast quantity of data available to us. We are currently looking for a Data Analyst to help us analyse a variety of game related data, such as player behaviour, genre benchmarks or game popularity, in order to support the business, the rest of the teams and, of course, our customers.
On the Data Team you’ll have the resources and data to learn what makes games go all the way from soft launch to industry hit, and the opportunity to help us engage our passionate community in a sector that’s seeing amazing growth. Your insights will help developers and studios understand their audience and improve their games by focusing on the most relevant topics to their players. As the largest games analytical firm globally, collecting on real time a total of 17 billion daily events, you will not have time to get bored at GameAnalytics!
We are seeking an additional member to join the data team family, someone able to bridge the gap between engineering, product and customer. You’ll need to be passionate about data and have a technical mindset. The following experience and / or skills are required:
Ability to write quality Python code, ideally familiar with common libraries such as Pandas or Numpy.
Expertise writing and running SQL queries on databases like MySQL or similar.
Experience on the field of Business Intelligence and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Holistics)
Basic understanding of data pipelines (ETL) and Big Data technologies (nice-to-haves: PySpark, Druid, Hadoop)
Proactive and fast learner, eager to solve problems and try out new technologies.
Great communication skills, able to efficiently convey ideas to other team members, non technical stakeholders and customers.
Desirable
Exposure to cloud technologies, like GCP (GCS, BigQuery, Composer) or AWS (S3, Lambda, EMR).
Basic knowledge about DevOps technologies like git, bash, Terraform, Docker…
