Bioinformatician / computational biologist

Salary Competitive

About the position

We are looking for a dedicated and independent bioinformatician to strengthen our team, to discover new biomarkers that will form the basis of next generation diagnostics for age-related diseases. In this position, you will analyze large-scale multi-omic data sets from a range of human aging cohorts, with a special focus on epigenetic changes that precede the development of age-related disease. Your work will feed directly into our growing platform of diagnostic products, and contribute to the continued development of our machine learning platform for biomarker discovery. Another focus for this position is the publication of results in high impact journals.

About you

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about our mission to develop novel precision biomarkers for the early detection of age related diseases to extend the human healthspan, and who fit the following profile:

  • You are a proactive and motivated team player, with strong problem solving skills and an analytical mindset.

  • You believe that good communication is key to getting things done.

  • You have a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field

  • Strong background in machine learning and statistics

  • Extensive experience in analyzing genomic, epigenomic, and/or other omics data

  • Experience with relevant programming languages, including R and Python

  • Experience with Linux and working with HPC/cloud environments

  • Publications in ML, aging biology, molecular biology, medicine and/or molecular diagnostics

We’d love for you to join our team in Oslo, but realize that this may be difficult in the short term, given the current circumstances. We will prioritize applicants with a permanent Norwegian or EU work permit. Knowing the Norwegian language is an advantage.

What we can offer

You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in very rich multi-omic data sets from large aging cohorts. Your colleagues will be an accomplished and highly multidisciplinary team of doctors, computer scientists, aging researchers, molecular biologists, geneticists, epidemiologists and biostatisticians. You will enjoy a flexible work situation, competitive remuneration, and office space in Oslo Science Park, the largest biotech hub of Norway. We will offer training to satisfy your desire to learn, and you will be able to attend relevant conferences and training programs.
