Hi! My name is Dima and I am a serial entrepreneur who co-founded 2 education-related startups: Panda Training and GrowthClub. My other two startups are in the growth phase so now I would like to build something new around my other passion: longevity and aging research. I am founding a new company that will develop a global online longevity/aging research hackathon. 

My goal here is to hire a CEO who will work on the project 30-40 hours per week, will get €1200/month salary and 20% of the company’s shares. I will invest 1-2 hours per week in weekly meetings with the CEO to decide on the strategy and help them make decisions. In many ways, this is an opportunity for you to create something of your own.

Preliminary Hackathon idea:

  • Two tracks. One: developing software tools to help aging researchers in their work. Two: increasing awareness and acceptance of aging research.

  • 300 participants, 60 teams. Fully online.

  • Attract some of the top people in the industry as mentors. Aubrey de Grey, David Sinclair, Laura Deming.

  • Value. For us: network, entry to the longevity industry, first steps on the path that could help us figure out what could be useful in longevity in the long run. For community and participants: spin-off companies if possible, projects that contribute to the cause, networking, good time, etc

  • The funding will come from sponsors. The goal is to pay back all the expenses including the salaries of everyone involved, but we don’t aim to make any profit, at least for the first event.

  • The project team may include other people who could support with marketing, introductions, content, etc on a part-time basis. 

Required:

  • Fluent English

  • Available 30+ hours per week. There is a high degree of flexibility, you can choose when you work except for calls/meetings with stakeholders.

  • Possibility to stick around in the job for at least 1 year

  • Being organized, conscientious, not afraid of routine work

  • Being responsive in communication

  • Able to give feedback, especially negative, and communicate clearly

  • Honesty and integrity

  • Check longevity and aging research before applying so you know what you are signing up for.

Bonus points for:

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with organizing events

  • Experience with organizing and attending hackathons, especially online.

  • Knowledge, understanding, experience in the fields of biology, biotech, aging science.

  • Copywriting skills

  • Cold calling skills or at least lack of fear to develop the skill as we might need it for getting sponsors

  • Design skills

  • Self-awareness and maturity, being reflected about own life, values, dreams, fears, strengths, et

Location: can be done remotely, but we have an office in Kallio, Helsinki that you can use.

Payment: €1200/month salary and 20% of the company’s shares.
