42 Technologies, a Y Combinator alumnus, is searching for a full-time software engineer to join the team and become a part of the company’s growth journey. 

The journey you’ll be joining 

42 Technologies is on a journey of improving the way retail companies and brands use their data. The 42 end-to-end analytics stack enables unique visibility to retail operations and helps companies in the $100m to $5bn range to eliminate manual data work - and there’s a lot to show for it! Currently, user engagement is high and there’s no churn despite the pandemic. 

Having gone through Y Combinator and a successful seed round, 42 has already managed to become profitable and is currently looking to take the next steps on its growth journey. But even with great growth potential on the horizon, 42 wants to remain the culture-first organization it has become. 

When it comes to culture, 42 maintains a no-ego, no-bs environment with sharp focus on its customers and product. 42 is a diverse remote-first team with six different languages spoken in a team of eight. Having gone remote already in 2019, the company has developed strong practices for onboarding new talent, working remotely and building culture. What you'll be doing

• Exposing 42’s unified data warehouse API to the world

• Creating a metric notification system (ex: push out-of-stock alerts to Zapier)

• Building integrations for authentication systems and customer user directories

• Replacing SQL data warehouse with Spark 3.0 + GPUs

• Spinning up an image resizing & caching proxy

• Building a portal to allow users to monitor the health of their data sources

Things that make you a good fit

• You can overlap ~4hrs with UTC-7 (PT) time zone for team collaboration

• Experience with Javascript/Typescript and/or Python

• 2+ years professional software development experience

• Familiarity with SQL and data modeling

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP

• Experience building integrations and connectors would be a bonus

• You can work well as part of a fast-paced remote-first startup

• You’re self-motivated, resourceful and can get things done with minimal direction
