The product team at Brella incorporates design, front-end, and back-end engineering, quality assurance, and project management. Our team is based in Helsinki HQ and also in Jyväskylä. The design team is working from Helsinki HQ, but there might be a possibility for a remote role in Finland.

A day in the life of a UX designer at Brella:

  • Working closely with the design leads to create critical user journeys, wireframes, information architecture, and design assets for the product.

  • Work on OKRs (Objective - Key Results) assigned to you and make sure that the OKR team (designer, developer, and product manager) are in sync with your work.

  • Talking with stakeholders to identify the problems and also understanding the 'Why' better

  • Conduct user interviews and user research sessions by talking with both customers and end-users to derive new insights.

  • Write product research report with recommendations, submit to product owner; present to product stakeholders, at the request of the product owner

  • Balance your designs between business needs, customer needs, and user needs.

  • Analyze current user flows and identify opportunities for refinement

  • Helping shape the design culture at Brella.


Do these define you as a designer? 

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing software applications across platforms Web, Android, and iOS

  • A user advocate with a solid understanding of human-centered design principles

  • Understands the challenges of building products that need to serve iOS, Android, and web platforms by speaking one holistic design language.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies. Familiar with breaking down UX designs into Epics and Stories.

  • Strong communication skills. Able to discuss tradeoffs between design options. Able to communicate ideas and designs to wider audiences unfamiliar with design processes.

  • Comfortable owning the Discover and the Define phase of a standard double-diamond design process.

  • Someone who understands that humans can be biased and can constructively work to go past that

  • Generalist attitude and good team skills

  • Maintains balance between business as well as user needs while designing a solution to a problem.

  • Excellent English skills are a must, as it is our internal working language.
