Tribe Tampere is looking for a COO to join our Tribe! We are a nonprofit community driven entrepreneurial association. Our goal is to unite the start up and entrepreneurial scene in Tampere and create growth in the ecosystem through collaboration between communities.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We seek ​an ambitious startup-minded doer to join our team as our first Chief Operating Officer (COO). Our organisation is growing, and we are looking for a strategic, process minded individual who will be able to guide our diverse team to achieve Tribe’s vision. The COO will focus on organisational development, high level strategic thinking and planning, strengthening our partnerships and increasing fund raising efforts. The role is brand new, so the chosen candidate will have a chance to develop the role further with the Tribe Tampere Team. 

Tribe Tampere Team

Together with the COO, The Tribe Tampere team will consist of four part-time employees; Community Lead, Marketing Lead and two Project Coordinators. In addition to employees, we have active community builders and interns, who form the operational team of Tribe Tampere.

Key Tasks:

Visioning and Strategy

• Working in partnership with the team and the board to create a 3-year strategic plan

• Ability to convey our vision to all our partners and community members

Team Management

• Guiding the overall operations of Tribe Tampere to be in line with the strategic plan

• Working with fellow team members to create and achieve performance goals

• Support individual employees professional learning and growth

Funding

• Forming and and leading a partnership/sales team to generate new revenue streams

• Being responsible for annual reports, financial reports and grant applications

• Planning the annual budget together with the treasurer

The ideal candidate has:

• Entrepreneurial mindset

• Local entrepreneur-ecosystem knowledge

• Leadership and team building skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate, interact and work with different individuals and teams

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• University background with a suitable degree

• Willingness and initiative to develop the role further

The position is part-time 30h/week, starting 1 February 2021. The duration of the position is six months with the opportunity for continuation, and a salary of 1800€/ month.

If something has to be done, it has to be done, no matter of time expected to be consumed at the given moment. You will excel in this role if you have a lot of self-initiative, with the capability and willingness to work as a part of a larger team.
