Freelancebit is a freelance marketplace with low fees where freelancers can upload gigs to sell a service or offer it free-of-charge. It’s a place where clients can seek out freelancers for any type of task either by searching for a gig or by uploading a project. The Freelancebit team is growing fast and we are currently looking for a proactive Team Manager who will help us in planning and overseeing daily operations within diverse teams.

About the role:

As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading our teams and providing guidance to co-workers. You will supervise and coordinate all day-to-day activities within the team but also motivate your team’s members. One of the key aspects of the role will be to ensure that all members understand the team’s objectives and work together to achieve it. You will set targets, implement guidelines, and assist the employees. The role requires to be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

This is an unpaid position. Volunteer and internship positions at Freelancebit comes with no commitment, no required work hours, and the freedom to pick your tasks. There is a possibility to choose how many and what type of teams you would like to manage. If you are not ready to start with an entire team, there is an option to manage parts of teams also.

Responsibilities:

• Creating an inspiring team environment with open communication; 

• Making sure that the team and project is following the set budget;

• Implementing team goals and objectives;

• Delegating tasks and setting deadlines;

• Assisting and guiding employees with their daily performance;

• Monitoring team activity and reporting on metrics;

• Supporting employees with training and development activities;

• Conducting performance evaluations of employees and providing feedback for the team members;

• Mediating any interpersonal issues within the team;

• Suggesting and organizing online team-building activities.

Requirements:

• Strong leadership skills;

• Outstanding time and project management abilities;

• Prior management/team leading experience would be a plus;  

• Self-motivation;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

• Problem-solving and decision making attitude;

• Strong ethics and reliability;

• Proficiency in English;

• BSc/BA in management studies or relevant fields. Having vocational and management certifications would be beneficial.
