Here at Savvie, we’re looking for a purpose-driven data engineer who is passionate about food waste and wants to be a part of building an impact-focused product and contributing to sustainability within the food business.

We are a young food tech startup which leverages data and ML to empower the food industry to build more sustainable businesses. We analyze data and translate the most important findings into actionable insights which are easily accessible in our intuitive and user-friendly app. Our goal is to help food businesses everywhere reduce waste while boosting profitability.

Who you are: 

You will be responsible for the overall data pipeline and structure. You love creating flexible, high-quality data pipelines, enabling end users to make crucial data driven decisions.

You thrive when getting deep into the data, and you have a keen eye for spotting data issues and like fixing these issues as they arrive.

 What you’ll do:

• Be responsible for the data and modeling pipeline.

• Integrate with third party APIs to get historical and real time data.

• Create intuitive SDKs/APIs to make high quality data available to end users.

• Ensure that the architecture in place supports the requirements for data users.

• Work closely with the software engineering team on the app front-end.

• Understand how data can impact the daily operations of food businesses - and being able prioritize insight which is critical for the user to have.

• Understanding future opportunities to leverage data in order to help the users 

You’re a great fit if you have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering with knowledge in applied mathematics or statistics.

• A strong grasp and ability to collect, query, and store information from databases. 

• Excellent working knowledge (minimum 3 years) of Python and well-versed in Javascript.

• A proven track record of developing high quality, reliable data pipelines. 

• Experience working with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Services
