For our Fernis office in central Copenhagen, we are looking for a lead product designer to work on managing, enhancing and developing the UX and UI of our product. Fernis is a start-up who wants to change the handling of artworks and information in the art industry. Our product is for galleries, artists, collectors and other stakeholders. We are a passionate team working towards transforming the way the industry works and shares information with each other.


About you

  • You are a professional and experienced digital product designer who can alternate between contributing to the overall product vision, ensuring quality, consistency and usability focus in the daily development work and getting your hands dirty with design tasks.

  • You are passionate about digital User Experience, customer journeys, and user involvement

  • You have a keen interest in the art industry, walk a mile in the customer's shoes and understand the industry movements.

  • You are a strong and flexible digital designer with a good grip on common User Interface conventions and professional web applications.

  • You have experience from design management and delivery in a scrum setting and understand the agile/scrum product development approach and critical process elements

  • You have strong communication skills and experience with stakeholder management, preferably in an international setting

  • You are intimately familiar with the common toolset used in web-based digital design and concepts such as mockups, prototypes or MVP’s

What Fernis need you to do

  • Maintain and develop their new UX line with your colleagues

  • Interact with customers to understand their needs and daily work

  • Take the role as design driver in the development of Fernis

  • Work as a team member across scrum teams with one team as your focus

  • Be an integrated part of our agile delivery organization

  • Work closely with Product Owners/Product Managers and development teams

  • Be involved in the definition of new initiatives and features and take initiative for relevant design changes to accommodate high usability, personalization and relevance

  • Continuous investigation of industry UI trends, user expectations, and needs with a focus on ensuring that all product is easy to use for Galleries and other professionals in the art industry

It stores information, provenance and authenticity statements about artworks, creating an indispensable link between the artwork and its history. Fernis will secure certitude about artwork’s genuineness for future generations. With Fernis, galleries will be able to register and administer their inventory and artwork data, artist information, exhibitions and ongoing sales opportunities as well as staying in touch with clients in one place. The gallery will have a profile with access to all their data. Galleries can share selected information with their art network, clients and colleagues.
