Breach is looking for a skilled and adventurous full-stack developer that wants to be part of shaping the future of virtual reality.

Breach creates bleeding-edge content and solutions for virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR / AR / MR / XR), with strong emphasis on multi-user collaboration and cross-platform scenarios. The company's headquarter is situated downtown in the tech-capital and university city Trondheim, Norway.

The company saw its inception in late 2016, by three Norwegian co-founders meeting at the game-themed co-working space Work-Work. Breach has since grown to a team of 19 enthusiastic designers and developers, working on a variety of projects both internally as well as with clients and partners around the world.

We are currently looking for a future-minded full-stack developer who finds great motivation in the diverse opportunities presented by emerging immersive technologies.

Our ideal candidate knows hens way around both the backend and frontend of modern web applications, knows how to juggle databases and servers, is constantly thirsty for innovation and rewarding programming challenges, and brings both a diverse skill set as well as new perspectives to the table.

 

Responsibilities

  • Server-side development to support our XR applications.

  • Develop and manage APIs, databases and cloud services.

  • Advice on and implement security and privacy protocols.

  • Implement user-facing web interfaces.

  • Work with the broader team and contribute in conceptual discussions across a variety of projects.

  • Research and build upon current developments and best practices, in all realities.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working as a full stack developer.

  • Experience with developing, maintaining and scaling enterprise applications.

  • Ability and desire to work in smaller innovation-driven teams.

  • Strong communications skills.

  • A keen interest in virtual reality.

 

Bonus points

  • Experience with WebXR/WebVR.

  • Experience with WebRTC and/or streaming media development.

  • Experience with AR, VR or 3D development.

  • A sensibility for design and user experience.

Art Director and Lead Designer Sindre Grønvoll has worked over a decade in the gaming industry with companies such as DICE, Criterion, Zynga and The Chinese Room, and occasionally lectures on game design.  CTO and Lead Developer Martin Sivertsen has the tech lead, drawing from over 15 years of experience as a full-stack programmer,  designer,  journalist and producer in the web and online media industry in Norway.  Our CEO Marius Thorvaldsen has a long and proven record of accomplishments in building and managing start-ups and initiatives in various industries, and is also the  managing director and co-founder of the co-working space Work-Work, as well as a  digital educational technology advisor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
