StepUp Air is building wearables based on breathing, a vital parameter that has been much forgotten but contains so much information. For sportspeople, we can significantly improve training efficiency while minimizing the risk of injury. For healthcare, we help patients live a better life. For horse owners, we deliver insights on horse health and behavior. We're a team of 18 international people covering a wide range of competencies.
Experienced or passionate about sports or medical technologies?
We are looking for a part-time or full-time intern to work closely with the product design, textile assembly and production where needed, including assisting the teams with collection development, layouts, local fabric and trimming sourcing, hand sewing, and helping with incoming tasks. This position is a bit specific: we don't expect you to be a specialist in product development and textile production, but we expect you to have some curiosity and basic knowledge for all of it. Fear not, learning and acquiring new skills is written in our DNA. Your goal? Making our new product works when we assemble it and test some cool new features we could add!
You will have an opportunity to work directly on the development tasks and make an impact on the product functionality. It will enable you to apply and increase your knowledge very quickly and discover the startup life. You'll be working along with the whole tech team, about 10 people. Being a sports enthusiast and passionate about technology is a plus!
Your tasks:
Assist with fabric cutting, sewing, pattern making, and preparation for mass production and assembly.
Material sourcing and communicate with suppliers for procurement and production.
Problem-solving for aesthetic functions.
Prototype and textile assembly.
Knowledge and/or experience within the following is a plus:
Basic knowledge of textile design, constructions, patterns, sewing techniques.
Must know how to use the sewing machine and hand-sewing, it is a plus if you have your own sewing machine.
Understandings of elastic materials and their manufacturing process are not mandatory but it will be considered valuable.
Creative thinking and problem-solving.
Testing ideas, textile prototyping, and supplier communication.
